Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

Only a terrific save denied him today tbf, once he gets off the mark hopefully it gives him some confidence.

It was a canny save to be fair to their goalkeeper. However, if Mayenda had sorted his feet out earlier and opened up his body, he could have slot it into the opposite corner thus giving the 'keeper no chance. Hopefully, with experience and confidence, that will come more naturally to him.

Whether it's just not his game or it's a matter of confidence, he gets bullied in one on one battles too easily. He's not a small lad and he needs to impose himself more on the opposition. I wouldn't say he got bullied but he looked lightweight in those situations when he was up against defenders one on one.

Not a terrible performance from him and I can see the potential in him but he's not ready to lead the line alone at this level yet.

His first touch just isn’t good enough . That’s not his fault . Proper centre forward and we win easily today

We did win easily today
He did the same twice in the first half . I think sometimes getting your feet mixed is a balance and a head down issue . Sometimes everything is just happening a bit quick

I hope you're right as that probably means a few games and it stops happening. Young players normally take two or three games to adjust to the speed of the first team game. Unless they're special like Rigg.

That's obviously inexperience mate. He seems to get flustered when he receives the ball..bit like Rusyn.
It can be but sometimes it’s ability .

I hope so too

Just like Hemir, the lad's just not ready to start at this level. It's not going to help his development getting exposed like this.

Gee ... maybe we need an experienced striker?

For now yes as we haven’t agreed anything with the new board, whether or not we just stump up and get it done remains to be seen
I think it’s allowing Mendys side to put pressure on the ownership to try get the original deal back on the table, as that’s what he’s been promised. If they don’t cave, we’ll agree a new deal. It would be stupid to let your no1 target go, especially if. He’s keen as mustard to come.

Happend in the first half aswell where he got it stuck under his feet and almost put a shot out for a throw in. He does have good attributes but is miles away from being ready to be even our second choice striker imo. He’s 19 and has plenty time to develop but the club really need to get it sorted.

Because if we did, we wouldn’t be scrambling around looking for a panic signing now. If we had a plan B or C then we would have signed one at least a week or 2 ago, ready for today. How can you not see that man?

We hung all of our hopes on Mendy which is fair enough if we got the deal done, but now we are at the mercy of a new board who look like they don’t want to do business.

Last minute panic signing incoming.
Really? You know nothing tbh

The other chance also when had weak shot which keeper saved, from the limited chances I’ve seen of him his finishing is very poor, I don’t think he’s doing extra training to improve his finishing, he should be that’s for sure
