Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

It's hilarious this place 🤣
We can see that the club has completely changed its tact on recruitment and in Browne and Poveda have signed experienced players for now and who have played alot of competitive football.

Now some are complaining that we are signing players who are too old.

I'm pretty confident by the end of the window we will have signed at least another 2 experienced players and at least one of them being a striker.
Stop being patient man :evil::evil:

To help you out, I’m pretty sure you didn’t and in the absence of any evidence, let’s assume I’m correct.

As a rule, before I spend too long engaging with a poster, I’ll do a cursory search of their history. Those that are critical of everything and fail to mention any positives, I tend to write of as WUMs not worth bothering with- it really takes no time and saves a lot of aggro.

Mental health, btw, is a serious issue for many so let’s try not to use it as a punchline to a “joke”.
If you are trolling my posting history to try and prove some point that I’m telling you I have praised the club it’s pretty sad behaviour. I haven’t the time or will to prove a point but I’m pretty sure I have praised the club on the Ballard and rigg contracts and I’m telling you now and earlier it was good business and well done to the club for sorting.

However, the striker situation is an absolute shambolic mess.

I would never ever belittle mental health but your behavior on this matter is concerning and perhaps you need to have a break.

correct on both points.

So you weren’t one of the ones saying sign up Kieffer Moore to get us promoted last season then? Bloody Ipswich Town, eh? Mugs.

Oh, wait.
Please find a post where I said sign Kieffer Moore ?

However Moore has proved himself at this level and beyond, can you say the same about Mendy ?

I’d love to know what you base this confidence on.

So far I’ve seen no evidence of the ‘lessons have been learned’ statement coming true.

We’ve replaced the free transfers of Bishop, Evans and Dack with Moore, Browne and Povada with a net spend of £0. The model of course always allowed players over the age of 25 to be signed as long as no fee was involved.

If you asked any SAFC fan at the end of the debacle of last season what was a minimum requirement before the start of next season I reckon an overwhelming majority would have said:

New head coach & back room staff
New strikers (plural)
New CDM

Now it very much looks like at Cardiff on Saturday well have just one new player in the side, no strikers, a new head coach who is relying on the two blokes that oversaw a dull uninspiring slump down the league from February onwards.

If you do then you'd know my annoyance that the Stewart money didn't increase our transfer budget and spending money on other things are completely separate and not olconnected in the slightest
So while the match is being played ,part of the roof falls down and injures spectators, some fatally. That's ok. because the money in the bank account didn't get spent on the upkeep of the stadium ,just dormant until the right player became available. Then to compound it the prices quoted for upkeep of the job originally ,went up 50% a year later. The money goes from ticket sales and Sky/EFL into the running of the club , then some of the money goes towards other expenditures like player recruitment .

Loads of anger about. Couldn't have seen this coming when people were posting on here they'd happily spend a few years building in the Championship, approximately 30 months ago.
I said it at the time, that 6th place finish did more harm than good for us. Massively raised expectations.

We relied on Amad in a lot of those games towards the end. Without him we’d probably have finished around 11th.

Us finishing 6th meant we as a fan base wanted another top 6 finish - and that’s without Amad.

We do have a basis of a good team mind, but we’re in desperate need of a proper central striker. Mendy or Ugbo would be good options to have with Mayenda & Rusyn as back up.
