Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

You make it sound like they put a bit in, had it accepted, negotiated terms with the player, booked a medical in for him,and then signed a contract, all in the space of 24 hours.

It'll have been going on for weeks man

Of course it will have.

But why have we struggled to get one in who isn't a teenager or even on loan for the last two or three years? Repeatedly failing.

Maybe other clubs simply understand the value of having strikers and will allocate and pay a higher chunk of their budget on ensuring they get some.

We talk about versatility, players who can play accross the front line (and then struggle up front) and even listen to people tell us how we don't need or don't play with a traditional number 9. It's all just bluster to cover for our inability to get competent strikers.

Get the thread back on track.

Just left the store and driving past the hotel there was a guy in a Merc who looked very very much like Mendy. Had an earring in right ear if anyone can confirm if he has one.
I doubt Mendy would be driving a merc considering he hasn't moved here yet, you'd think he'd be getting driven around.

I'd agree if it wasn't evident that we had a deal in the works and are trying

Let's hope there's more than one egg in the basket and we don't have to listen to Speakman in a month or so telling us how we couldn't get it over the line, but Leon Geldstow or whoever that we've signed from Chelsea Munchen United is a talent and he can play up front.

We are the biggest club outside the premier league how dare the support want us to have a go and try to be promoted.

With no competent strikers this team will be in a relegation battle. Whether it’s Mende or not we need 2 competent strikers.

We are the least demanding supporters in the country but with 32,000 season ticket holders and 100,000s of shirt sales we should at least expect the club to have a go for promotion.

Just words from the owners and speakman about lessons being learnt. We need action.

Another season of plodding on it appears at the moment.

I was just reading we have now sold in excess of 33k season tickets.

The owner to have the remotest chance of making a profitable return on his investment needs the club to be promoted or he will continue to invest and lose money. I don’t see the business sense in settling for second best options whether that be the DOF, Head Coach, Assistants or our pursuit of players which in the case of the CF position which is beyond embarrassing now. The owner needs to raise the bar with the people around him, imho they aren’t good enough and this season if the squad isn’t significantly improved with CH, DCM player and two CF’s the supporters who I believe many are already hugely concerned, the Head Coach will be the fall guy and will be under massive pressure even before Christmas.

People need sacked because of performance. The biggest club outside the premier league was nearly relegated back to Div 3 last season.

Gross mismanagement and several could have lost their jobs given how pathetic we were for months and would have had very little complaints.

Some of these are still in senior positions and nothing has been learnt from last season given our recruitment to date.

The new HC is on a hiding to nothing and will be the scapegoat soon enough
It's incredible that many on here can't or won't see this.
We survived last season on Mowbray's early season points tally earned prior to December.
The second half season showing was disgusting.

Saw a player being picked up from teesside airport about a year ago after they had signed and he was picked up in black Merc SUV with a custom plate.

It's people trying to be too clever, and it makes the assumption that we have a squad full of intelligent versatile players, and coaching staff who are skilled at training various methods ready for the games which require it.

Both assumptions are wrong. We need a goalscorer.

We sacked the last coach who made a half decent fist of it.

Mad isn’t it?
