Speakman has done a decent job overall. We looked canny smart for a period when we were giving Clarke / Roberts etc as chance and initially it paid off.

He is absolute shit when it comes to investing limited funds wisely, he spread bets his pot and ends up with fk all, as opposed to allocating funds on a proven player.

We brought in 4 forwards last season with no pedigree, and no real experience of this league, they added the sum total of fk all, so it's not daft that he will get flak, its his fk up.

Speakman we praise you for clarke, roberts, jobe etc etc

Speakman we criticise you for hemir, mayenda, burstow, rusyn, geld whatsit, etc etc etc

People just want to see us do well, no need for it to be divisive. Anyone in any job is judged on the NOW, unless you are very lucky or an arse licking get that can keep calling in historic favours that is how it is.

All brilliant,will go down well back in the 1st div,a place we would already be in if a few more games had to be played last season.As it stands we are going to be in a desperate relegation battle.
 
Today in the "happy clappers" vs "Miserable bastards" civil war thread, I think we should discuss whether it's worth splashing out for a new set of Goodyears or if a humble Lassa is still good enough to do the job.

See, you can type that and it's fine. A lot of people on here can't admit that to themselves. I didn't once say I don't understand why he gets stick either it's clear why he does but the people who want him out of the door now are wrong, in my opinion.

We have a good squad.
It lacks firepower.

Everyone knows it
Everyone can see it

The club also know it, which is why we chucked brass at 4 players last season to fix it.
they all failed.

Chance to fix it is now.

Why would it create argument?

Patently untrue. At the end of last season we were two games away from being right back where we were when KLD and the bafflingly still employed Speakman came along, and the reasons for that were plain to see to anyone even those outside the club and it's support. Failure to balance the squad with effective attacking talent over MULTIPLE transfer windows, sacking a decent manager - OK there was some mitigation for that one - and replacing him with an obviously horrendous choice, and then writing off the rest of that season by not having a replacement lined up when the mistake was admitted to and Beale was put out of his misery.

As I said, if there'd been two more games to play, we'd be prepping for another stint in L1 and the "value" of the young squad KS has assembled would be null and void as they'd all have been away for buttons, and we'd be looking at a first team weaker than the one that was well beaten by Bradford City the other night.

They are shite when played in the 21s man or against teams like Bradford who are 1 step up from non league.If they need to learn can they just f..k off and learn somewhere else,because it is frightening to think that they are in our 1st squad

People would still find reason to complain if we signed a 30 goal a season striker, it would be something else. That's just the nature of our fanbase and it's been that way for as long as I can remember.

It's a shame it has to be on this thread, which obviously I'm gonna read when it's a player I hope we sign.
