It’s absolutely utterly mental at this point I can’t get my head around it. It’s as if people just revert to the same defences on a loop and make the same arguments again and again and again.

The year is 2042 and Sunderland still don't have a striker but everyone is ok with it because it's hard to find a striker in the current market and there is a few weeks of the window left.

Time isn't irrelevant, we needed players in at the start of pre season, I gave the reasons why in a previous post which again you completely ignored. It isn't my fault that we are pinning our hopes on a 19 year old who has no goals from open play since he signed, It's not the lads fault its the recruitments.

I notice this constant defending of Speakman is from yet another poster who only joined the board in July this year. There are dozens of them and every single one of them jumps on whenever required to defend KLD & Speakman. Something very odd about it .

Nah not at all like. I don’t constantly defend speakman I wasn’t happy at all last season. But I also know not to cry about a window until it’s over. Football changes fast and you could end up with two strikers in one week.

At least we are seeing an actual link to a striker and some details that it’s close and the player wants to come. I just hope we get it over the line.

But like I say there’s a month to go I’ll never judge a window until it’s closed. If it closes and speakman doesn’t get a striker then I’ll be saying his time is up personally.

Complaining maybe not, highlighting incompetence that it took this long should not be easily forgotten.

It doesn’t change your point being crackers. How can time be irrelevant, when we’ve gone this long without a competent forward. It’s hindered us massively, and saw us being lucky games ran out last season.

The same arguments were made than and look what happened, I repeat time is very very relevant given the last 18 months.

100%. When Ross Stewart was up top banging them in people were still wanting rid of Speakman that narrative hasn't changed. It's just further enhanced by the fact he hasn't signed a striker. It's not a new thing it's just how it is and how it's always been.

KS has never been properly received by our fanbase even when doing very well. That's a fact. Of course he can be criticsed, of course he is underperforming when it comes to the striker situation but he can be doing that and still have done a largely good job overall, which he has. Questions are allowed to be asked nobody is saying otherwise but this theory that he needs to go and be sacked instantly is insane. We are in a far better place overall since he joined the club and I don't see how that can be questioned.

Are you constantly forgetting we had two horrible tactical coaches in charge of the squad that played defensive style football with a squad that likes to attack.

We could sign 2 ,but we signed a few in the last windows who wouldnt get a game for Ryhope colliery.

Every single person at the club knows we need a striker, Do people seriously think they are sitting there, not knowing and completely oblivious to it?

The Striker situation has gone on too long and it needs resolving but i’m pretty sure it will be..

Someone hoyed up a list of transfers on here other day, and for all the apparent pant wetting by dissenters it PROVED that 15 out of 24 sides in our league had signed at LEAST 1 centre forward.

So it cannot be as complex as some say. It's a total piss take if we start another camapign with a useless forward line, inexcusable.

I can appreciate your points on a striker.

We’ve signed Browne. To do the leg work in midfield, Dan Neil is good at that dcm role breaking up play from deep and it’s evident that RLB plans on using him there.

So if in your opinion you don’t like that then fair enough but in the clubs opinion they have addressed this

Dear me, Mowbray was sacked to cover up for the recruitment shambles last summer. Beale was Speakmans choice, remember the best coaching he has witnessed, another disaster and then his mate Dodds gets the gig for the 3rd time with Speakman happy to just plod along until the end of the season.
