A winger and a striker are different things

Clarke is a winger
Roberts is a winger

Rusyns best position in my opinion is left wing but he is played up front

Yes they played as strikers (or centre forwards) in a system which allowed two strikers

And yet after 32 games we were 1 point off the playoffs, without a centre forward, with Cirkin, Alese and Roberts out injured.



Yeah let's not bother with a striker because we were ok for a few months.

Performance levels had definitely dropped, no doubt about it. Early season we were playing quite well, we weren't getting points we deserved, away at PNE and Swansea spring to mind. From about Halloween on we weren't as good, but we were still ticking along points wise until the Beale sacking. We wouldn't have made the playoffs though, we do need a centre forward, imo we need 2.

How many Championship squads would you swap for ours?

Just went back through 6 or 7 of your posts and can't seem anything saying that, if I'm honest I don't go through people's post history before I call them out on silly comments.
 
Basically don't get your hopes up he might sign after watching the friendlies so far don't expect us to pull up trees and plough through the league just over 2 weeks away to get 1 forward in get him integrated into the team we need more than 1 forward still need a good solid recognised centre back to pair up with Ballard do not expect the lads to do anything this season they are not good enough if anyone thinks otherwise they are kidding themselves

We needed to strengthen the midfield with a CDM not another number 8

9 days until the first game of the season, if they manage to bring somebody in they will have missed the whole of pre season working with the new head coach who is still attempting to stamp his playing style on last seasons squad. Aye nowt to worry about ffs.
What happened to we have learnt lessons from last season, what do you think the owner and the recruitment team have addressed since in regards to having a striker who can score goals in the championship and will be ready for the game against Cardiff.
Do we end up playing with Jobe again as the false 9 because the 3 so called strikers we have in the squad have proved in pre season that they are still a million miles away from being ready to start up front.

Well if Jobe goes up front it will show that pre season means fuck all for learning the playing style, because he hasn't played there once. It will surely be Mayenda unless someone signs.

I reckon he might do alright this season and you are correct he will be the one to start unless someone is signed (pretty sure mendy will
Sign eventually) but he’s not the man to get us a lot of goals this season. He’s just too young and a bit raw. Same as Mundle

We lost Clarke to injury (and later Dan Neil) and appointed Dodds and it went to shit. No defending the appointment, but I think the squad is still full of good players when they are well coached.

And that shows how thin we are as a squad (talent wise) and that we're relying on Jack Clarke to produce the goods.
