All I know at this stage is he still wants to come and has told them that, only way the new owners could impact the deal is by pricing us out of the move but I genuinely don’t know what’s going on at their end, wish I did

Another sign of incompetence at the club, if you ask me. We have such bloat in our squad of players who are clearly not up to scratch and some of them need moving on sharpish as they are not only filling squad places, but the financial drain they represent on the club finances is another hindrance on us finding a proven striker.

Someone else posted the figures earlier but it was something like 3 keepers, 11 defenders, 13 midfielders and not one "proven" 1st team striker. You cannot be competitive in ANY league at any level with that imbalance in your playing squad - and that rests on one fella as far as I can see.

I know of 4 “fringe” players we are actively trying to get rid of permanently, none of them will be a surprise.

Then we are looking to loan out a couple as well.

That's impressive, that. Love a bit of Kraut-rock or teuto-electronica, me. I used to be quite pally with the lad from Stereolab, Tim Gane and he pointed me at Kraftwerk, Neu! and the like.

I don't think it is, fairly certain its the approach they want to take

fill the squad with young players with potential, loan a few out and give the others a bit role

if no improvement over a couple of years move on for litte outlay/profit

The intention is to move on 1 CB, 2 CM and a winger and get them off the wage bill completely before the end of the transfer window, so hopefully we can actually pull it off (it would mean finding buyers who want to actually pay real English pounds for them though)

It doesn't work, does it? How do you develop someone like Pembele, or Triantis on that basis? They won't get games as they are not good enough, and how often do we loan players out for them to come back in and be demonstrably better? Henderson and Pickford the last ones maybe? I don't see us improving those fringe players to the point where anyone will want to take them off us for a fee, under the current model.
