This seems a bit of a reach, considering Mayenda scored 0 goals and struggled to get in Hibs’ team last season while Asante scored double figures the last two seasons and led the line for a Championship play-off team last season.We still need Mayenda to mature but I think he can bring whatever we'd get from Asante, whose absolute best season ever saw him score 11 goals. In fact, Mendy has score more in the last three seasons than Asante has in all 265 of his senior appearances.
Main worry with Mendy is he's 30 and never played outside of France but if we could get him and Vipotnik I'd be very happy, as surely one of them would score regularly??

Haven’t seen that anywhere think the conversation around him was Hulls interest/bid for him. You’d think if West Brom were letting him go they’d have another striker signing lined up, a replacement they probably deem to be better

Well that was said with the understanding that we would actually get a proper striker before the window shuts, then Mayenda can provide the bit of pace and unpredictability off the bench that Asante would.

How long are you going to trot out this excuse?
16 other teams have already signed a centre forward this summer.
So he's not training, therefore won't be fit until probably october even if he does sign. Pathetic but not surprising.

He's training at the club, just not with his team-mates so he doesn't get injured and have his move scuppered.

Whatever way you look at it, no way will he be ready to play immediately. Training on his own man, haway it hardly sets him up for the rigours of the championship does it?

It's not ideal but it's better than us getting past the Mbappe thing and then it falling through anyway because he does his ankle in training.
