I think genuinely concerned about the direction of drift is more accurate in the majority of cases TBH. Aren't you?

I for one has not forgotten about last season specially the transfer window & speakman failure to bring in a striker in 4 transfer windows

You would think that with all they’ve learned strikers wouldn’t be something they would nickel and dime on…but maybe they haven’t learned anything at all

This must be speakmans last chance to get this window right if he fails he must be sacked. We need a CB / 2 striker’s for me

I think most would agree with that position on Speakmam
 
Until the Clarke situation is resolved we won’t know whether spending £7m or so on one or even two players is possible. We will sell Clarke if we get the right fee, and if that happens we will have no chance but to reinvest a significant portion on decent players. Unfortunately I suspect we’ll only get clubs coming in at our valuation at the very back end of the window, in which case we’ll be rushing and overpaying for anyone who is still available to be signed.

We’re not going to spend multi millions now before we sell any of our Crown Jewels the money just isn’t there.

More generally, I have thought for a long time clubs should be up front about price evaluations and premiums.

For example in this case we would say Clarke is available for 25m, if he goes before August 15th. If it’s after that the valuation is 30m. If it’s in the last 48 hours of the window it’s 35m.
