I really don't get this in terms of benefits, as things stand at the mo we could have at least 3 loan players in the squad/team add to that the 5 or 6 who are out of contract next summer we could be in a situation where we need to sign a hell of a lot of players just to stand still
If we want to keep those out of contract we'll sign new deals with them (that is allowed). If we dont want them we wont. Or do you suggest that we re-sign players we dont rate and keep them just to make the squad look fuller?

No I'd rather us spend the money that is there

It's not as simple as that though is it? There could be allsorts going on behind the scenes.

Maybe our we know that our number one target will be more available in January or next summer.
Maybe we can only spend a little in wages because a large chunk of what we have left is earmarked for another signing. One who jingles and has few problems with locked doors.
Maybe there's an academy product who's half a season away from being capable of filling a role.
There are so many variables it's too basic to say 'just spend the money man'. Maybe there is no money.

Ive not been impressed with him, however the lad has barely been given a shot at utd, another loan like that would be three of our starting elven made up with loans if not more come the close of the window. Nowt learned from bruces time here were we loaded up with loans they all went back and we struggled to replace them.
2 goals and an assist in 5 starts for Man U. Maybe he just needs a chance

That's probably going to have to happen, but at least now we have a professional quality scouting network they've got a few months to work on targets we can maybe sign permanently in January. There's nearly always some decent players & promsing youngsters who've fallen down the pecking order at big clubs with only 18 months left on their contract. With it being a world cup year some of them are going to want 1st team football at in a decent league so they stand a chance of getting to the world cup.

better than jack?

morning rocky!
good question. he played well at the SOL against us last season in a colback type of way.
i noticed many similarities in their styles. both tough durable defenders. without seeing more of him alongside similar quality that colback plays with it'd be even harder to judge.

in our team at the moment i'd take the proven colback as first choice but i wouldn't be surprised if buttner turned out to be just as good. i'd be happier with a more attacking LB (like rose) as cover as it gives us more options.

because they take him back and we're back to square one?

That doesn't leave us weaker, it leaves us in the same position as we started, as you say, back to square one. I'm not a great fan of the loan system but it could be argued that if we didn't get the likes of Evans, Rose and Welbeck on loan we wouldn't even be in the prem. And we had deals sorted for Orban who wanted more money and Mendy who wanted to stay in France. I'd rather see us loan a player for a year than panic buy and end up with someone on the wage bill that isn't good enough and we can't shift. We've got enough of those at the club already.

Rose as cover for Jack???? Whey aye man!!!

Undoubted proof that this is an elaborate wind-up! If not you are insane

Sounds odd, if they bought Baines to replace Evra wouldn't they want to sell Evra? He is on a lot of money to become a squad and is still a valuable asset.

could be they want Buttner to gain more experience I suppose. Man United's turnover is so ridiculous they can probably pay anyone anything they like to be backup.

Absentee O' Neill & his people had 6 months to find a few options but only came up with 1 left back in that time that they couldn't even agree a deal with his club for because they left it too late & their other left back got a serious injury.

In comparison this new Regime came up with multiple targets across several countries in about 6 weeks & had deals accepted by their clubs for all of them. The end result may be the same but at least most of us can see that at least it wasn't lack of knowledge of effort this time.

So they did all of that and didn't get a permanent left back or creative central midfielder in? They even sent one back to Turkey where De Fanti got him from in the first place.

you're reading into it what you want to. i said an attacking style "like" rose as i'm not sure we'll sign danny. having a very good defender like colback gives us a solid main option with a more attacking back up option. either way colback is a better straight up defender than rose regardless.

personally i don't think we'll sign a better fullback than colback.

Absentee O'Neills people signed N'Diaye you pratt

Edit - & the new regime had just 6 weeks to work with. Absentee O' Neill & his people had been in for over a year & had 2 transfer windows but still only managed to find 1 left back. It would have taken them 6 years to make the number of signings we have this summer.
