I think the advantage we might have over both Besiktas & Celtic is that Moyes/Man U may want him to continue to play in the Premier League and also that we have a good track record of developing and improving players they have previously loaned us.

Scottish Transfer window closes at 11pm tonight !

I'm not worried about loans now that we have a management team that will start working on a replacement on September 3rd.

i cant see utd wanting him to go and play in the tin pot scottish league, hed be playing FOR celtic who are the only side in that league anywhere near premier league quality

Better to look at it this way. If he does improve and thus improves us in the process, we will be in a better position next season to sign a higher standard of player.

Very much this. I suspect our problems with at least some of the signings who didn't come was that we were seen as too much of a gamble after last year. A higher finishing position might just have been the difference.

That is true. Haven't really seen much of him at Man Utd due to his limited appearances but he looked decent in the games I did see.

Apparently they've already discussed targets for next summer. I'm not sure how as we have no idea where we will be by then but it's encouraging they're looking at what is available and cost effective.

If we were to get him its obviously going to be yet ANOTHER case of a young player joins on loan, does well and we'll have no chance of signing them. Yawn.

Could be another Man Utd loanee we improve but don't get to sign

So what? It's not as if they are our rivals/ a team we are competing against so who cares when he goes back. He's better than what we have so get him in!

If he improves it means he's had a good season -FOR US - End of story.

I thought we had a new regime with a super -dooper scouting system that could snap their fingers down every pit shaft, sorry Pizza shop, and bring out a player.

Like we've done on average twice a week for the last six weeks?

50 years of support - still knows nowt.

unfortunately, they dont have the authority to hold a gun to a players head and make them sign. theyve identified a number of left backs, weve gone for them but been unable to convince them to sign, maybe the wage is the issue but thats not down to the scouting network.

as its got this late in the window maybe theyve found they can get a left back thats far superior to what is now available and feel its a better option to get him in and try again when the window opens in january or next summer?????????

just a thought like..

Only if he's the difference between survival and relegation. Otherwise we'll be in exactly the same position.

Not that I'm against this, or us loaning players in general.
