He can sign all the contracts he wants but he hasnt been backed.
What players did he want? We've signed a Costa Rican international and a French U21 international. Add to that we signed a Northern Irish international in Ballard as well as Clarke, Simms and Alese.

Who did he want? Mbappe?
The hate for my comment on this thread is hilarious. Neil wants proven experienced players Speakman doesn’t.. why would he stay when he ain’t getting the players he wants
Rumour has it he wanted Ruddy, Christie and Barkhuizen. Not exactly exciting.

"We had a really well structured contract for when he [Neil] moved into the Championship," explained Speakman

"It had the appropriate up-lifts, etc. We had a discussion in the summer because we wanted to reward him and almost provide a well done. That contract was redrawn up and was only signed four weeks ago.
Actually giving him a well done might have been more effective.

It's very muddy situation and hard to tell what the truth is but I think it's been brewing for a few weeks.

He wanted experienced players with 200-300 experience behind them, he got none.
That's never been expanded upon. Pure speculation unless you can provide evidence
just have.

You’d rather have John ruddy in goal than Patterson?

Cyrus Christie over Ballard or Batth?

Barkhuizen over stewart?

That’s a recipe for the most mediocre f***ing squad in this league.

Where are you getting those players from because they are not the players I know we wanted to sign. We have a manager who knows how to get clubs promoted but follow a TD whos best experience is at Birmingham a mediocre team.

In reality Alex Neil has done very well for us, and none of the players were "his" signings. He ultimately failed at Preston, did well at Norwich with another managers signings. Maybe he just is a better coach and should stick to that. After todays performance at least the players are still up for it.

Leeds and Brentford used a similar model. I think Fulham and Forest use a similar model. We were crying out about not copy the "Udinese model" or the "Dortmund model" but this is it. KLD grew up in the culture of French which is about developing young players and sell them and reinvest.

Just for the record, Neil has the same amount of promotion as Tony Mowbray.

Clubs fault though aye?!

Signed new terms just 4 weeks ago, offered further new terms yesterday. And he's still fucked off.

Nice one Alex, cheers.
