It is a terrible example to make the point - Speakman and our CEO are of no interest to any other clubs at our level

On the other hand the world and his dog could see what a good job AN was doing at Sunderland

Took over a team being beaten at home by Doncaster Rovers FFS and made us virtually unbeatable

So it doesnt take a genius to work out other ambitious Championship clubs would be interested in hiring him - especially if they have megabucks from 365 in their back pocket and they hear he is on a short term contract

SAFC should have negotiated a contract which tied him down

How do I know he was able to leave and there will be no significant compensation because of the nature of his contract?

Well AN has left and I have certainly not read anything saying Stoke City will be paying any compensation. Have you?

Club is being badly run
Not sure about your comments if you recall Sunderland did not have a manager in place that’s the mistake that caught up with Sunderland. AN used us to leverage his midland’s job weather it was Burnley or Stoke. It’s clearly a location issue and maybe money. Sunderland have been promoted he received his ideal job. We need to move on get the manager position right again.

I agree we need to move on

But we also need to learn the right lessons from this

AN was an outstanding manager for SAFC - I am sure that is why a lot if people are so angry

But if you have an outstanding manager you do not keep him on a cheap short term contract that makes it easy for other clubs to poach him

Or that is exactly what will happen

Speakman might be lying, but I'm skeptical he would lie so openly on national TV

So assuming it's true
Neil signed an improved contract 4 weeks ago but insisted the approach clause remained, heplayed us against Stoke to get a big fat contract
Not about the transfer policy
Not about the DoF model
Not about being closer to his family

Just about cold hard cash
Increased his pay packet but really damaged his reputation. Not a good swap

Increased his pay packet (rumours x2 or x3) and got three year security

As far as reputation is concerned, think most outsiders will put it down to owners of SAFC being tight wads again

I see that but the anger is in the way he done it in front of the Norwich game and turmed up at Blackburn whilst still in our employment. Piss poor behaviour.

We had no choice in the beginning L1 position lost to Doncaster needed a quality manager in to steady the ship outstanding job we are promote, but if he signed a new contract 4 weeks ago it should have been very strong contract. Clearly about money & did Not want to leave in the NE.
Believe or not there are good managers out there we need to find another gem as long as we do not lose anyone in our squad this week. We are building something special it will happen just hope they get it right again tough to find really good managers.

Where you getting theyre tight from? KLD only recently took the majority control of the club. Whilst it was in league one, our costs were far more than some championship sides...they still continue to be when the Academy costs between 5-6 mil a year just to keep it's cat A grading. If they are as tight as you blabber on about, then the academy would have gone.

This season has seen the club invest in players, far more than any club has done when promoted from league one and there will no doubt be a few more new faces through the door before the window shuts.

Neil's went to Stoke for much more than we were willing to pay, maybe we know that we can get another decent head coach in for around the same that Neil was offered? Let's not forget that although Neil did a brilliant job here, he'd been out of work for over a year before we came calling.

Anyway, this will be my last reply to you as like I've already said, you seem to have a dislike for the current ownership and that's your choice...even if they are taking us in the right direction now.

I can see that

But things clearly came to a head on Friday

After that he could hardly be in the dug out for Saturday? Would that have been ethical? If we lost with AN in the dug out what would people think?

After that whatever it says on paper he had effectively left All bar the shouting and is managing Stoke

So he goes to check out things

And Stoke City have not only managed to poach a key rivals manager for next to nothing but also F up our transfer dealings as the window closes

Sorry I am blaming the out-of-their-depth amateurs running our club

Other clubs would not have set themselves up for this
