Alex Neil Post Match

Well I think Johnson probably would have got us promoted this season. Especially given the games which we’ve now squandered with dodds and neil. It’s difficult to praise neil for sneaking us into the play offs when his predecessor had us third 7 points clear of there when he was sacked...

At the time Neil was announced we were only 2 points ahead of 7th having played a game more so what happened before then isn't his fault.

I fail to see how Alex Neil has shown anything to suggest he’s any better...
One defeat in 18 and never looked even remotely like losing in any of those other 17 games. An absolute master tactician compared to Johnson. Played each game on its own merits, picks horses for courses and plans meticulously. Doesn't spend the entire game going on like a c_unt with the 4th official or squaring up to the oppo dug out, instead he's actually watching what's going on during the game and thinking what might need changing.

Of course, I was wrong, always said his job was to get us up. He's passed with flying colours.
We all get stuff wrong but it was the absolute passion that you argued against Neil that set you apart. No credit for any wins, his only defeat labeled as an absolute disgrace in far more certain terms that a 6-0 defeat at Bolton and despite him only being at the club a couple of weeks. You really hung your hat on Alex Neil being rubbish.

I'm elated to be proven emphatically wrong and eat my humble pie.

If anyone reckons they saw this coming in the early days they're a massive liar mind.

I far from hung my hat on him being shite, I traveled up and down the country watching us and we got better week by week.

Still think the sacking was harsh and that Johnson left us in a fundamentally better position than when he came in.

Of course people saw it coming.

His first job was to stop us conceding, which he done.

His second was to turn the clean sheets into victories, which he done.

His third was promotion.

If you saw it coming at 0-1 to Fleetwood at half time then fair play.
