Aberdeen achievements were the equal of those at Utd though for a shorter period. Took a top 5 team and put the ugly sisters to the sword. Nivver forget that Ally Macleoad assembled a large part of fergies Aberdeen team a couple of years earlier.
Utd were the biggest club in England before he even arrived so he basically made them punch their weight. They nivver really punched above their weight in the manner of clough derby or forest in Europe.

Greatest achievement Aberdeen & breaking Old firm monopoly. Clough still did more in England by winning titles with clubs who never had & winning as many European Cups.

He's looking better and better as each season passes

Often happens. Everybody thought managing Liverpool was easy. Until it wasnt. Strange thing about Man Utd though. 3 managers have won all there titles which suggests getting the manager right is a massive decision.

Great manager but I prefer Bob Paisley.

I did too. Although Sir Alex 's Aberdeen side were also decent without winning a EC which is pretty much the main standard in that era.

Clough has the greatest achievement. Best manager will always be opinion.

What Clough did with very limited finances and a group of mainly not household name players at Forest was an unbelievable achievement, what he did with Derby by picking up the likes of Dave Mackay, etc. to win the league was also an achievement

What made Clough different is his 2 European cups will never repeated by Notts Forest. Ferguson couldnt beat that haul at Man Utd but the club won one under Busby and will win others in the future. Paisley deserves a lot more credit than he is given but Liverpool have won others after him.

Clough was the best of his era.
Fergie was the best of his.

Clough wouldn't have coped as well with the modern day as fergie did. He got out at the right time, the fact he recommended David f***ing Moyes to be his replacement suggests his judgement was going.

Better than Paisley?
