alerts

Why am I receiving alerts every time anyone posts a new thread and alerts sometimes when people reply to a thread? I have tried removing all alert notification options but it makes no difference.
Also,when I reply to a post,I no longer have the option of attaching smilies?
Can you help please?

Alerts are configured here, but I assume you have already looked at that.

Additionally if you are watching threads or watching forums you will receive alerts until you turn those "watches" off.

The "attaching smilies" problem is because you have turned off the rich text editor in your preferences
