A bit of a continuation from the Woakes thread in a way but the bowler who IIRC had the lowest economy throughout the world cup, and who England could barely get off the square in the QF, went for 183 off 41 overs down at Taunton in Warwickshire's first innings.

David Lloyd did say he was nothing but an up and down bowler, no movement and very little spin. Just goes to show perhaps what happens when a bowler is taken out of his sub-continent comfort zone.

Fair enough but Taunton is and has been for many years an exceptional batting track.

That's very true, and also some of the shortest boundaries going. Wasn't a massive criticism of the lad, more a point of saying is he really as good teams made him out to be in the world cup?, is he a bit one-dimensional?. I'm starting to sound a bit like Nick Knight now, hand movements will follow
