Airbus A320 crashed in Karachi

Lots of confusing information here like. The weather looks ok on that video until the last few seconds, it's like it disappears into fog. Could be a smoke source in front of the view - it is Karachi after all.

Three landing attempts with a technical issue is odd unless it's landing gear that's the problem. As is being offered every flat bit on the airfield and choosing a specific route. If your technical problem is that bad you get it on the ground as soon as possible.
If they've lost hydraulic pressure, they'll lose the ability to operate the landing gear.

Losing hydraulics can occasionally be linked to loss of an engine (and I mean that literally)

It's really too early to speculate with the available evidence.

RIP

This is the provisional altitude data. It seems to have made one landing attempt but struggled to regain altitude after it. That would suggest that the engines were damaged by contact with the ground rather than a bird strike.

Is that data downloadable or just the chart?

It's the chart from Flightradar.

Some reports attribute the crash to engine failure. Others say the plane attempted an emergency landing first. The chart suggests that - whatever the reason for the emergency landing - there was power to get the plane airborne again, then the engines failed. Photos show both engines had severe damage on the underside.

Why did the plane return to Karachi? Did the pilots know the gear wasn't down when they attempted to land? Why did they go-around? Those will be the critical questions.

Landing gear is down on the crash vid.

Landing gear looks down on the crash vid.
I noticed that. But from the start there were reports of a belly landing.

Pure speculation: Did they accidentally land without the gear down, panic, take off again, engines failed due to the damage on the runway, they put the gear down in preparation for another attempt, didn't make it?

Interesting. So potentially damaged it, stalled and fell short.

Didn't even fall short. After the emergency landing attempt it somehow got back up into the air, then went down.

We don't know what the reason for the initial emergency landing was. But all current evidence points to a belly landing. Why on earth did the plane take to the air again?

We should find out soon enough.
