Have you been to a hartlepool vcDarlington game?
Now they really do hate each other.

I once went to a Darlo/Poolie game at the Feethams with a Darlo supporting mate (I think it was when they were both battling to avoid relegation to the Conference). I was surprised at how toxic it was. A fight broke out in the away end that seemed to go on for ages !

Not seen him for years. Think the last game i saw him at was Derby (late 80's / early 90's) away when they decided to 'do some shopping' at Marks & Spencer. Few went down for that if i recall correctly.

He was a character. Harmless lad, his mate who passed away was sound as well.

I knew a load of FW’s lads at the time and they told me about it.
FW said in his book they battered Newcastle there then got chased near the ground. His words, not mine.
He very well might of done. There was loads of different groups of Sunderland lads who for one reason or another never got together, so it was hitty Missy most of the time. If the Peterlee lads got chased near the ground than they weren't with us lot just before KO. I was only 21 at the time, but game as a badger.most of the seaburn lads were around the same age. There was a load of older bender lads in the clockstand seats that day, we were directly below them in the paddocks. They didn't want to play that day after the FW. Roker baths road was like a warzone after the game with smoke bombs getting launched into your escort back to seaburn station.

Paul Nutter. He was a great lad, i went right through school with Paul. He was one that had a little holiday as a result of the Derby 'shopping trip'.

To be fair my memory is that he was no worse than the rest of us in the group. Young lads with a few quid in our pockets and a bit of freedom. Paul sadly never got the opportunity to me a bird and be forced to settle down.
So many local vermin who really should have swopped places with him if there was any justice.

David Nicholson? (was it) he passed away not long ago as well.. same age group I think

Yeah. David was diagnosed with cancer and within a week or two was gone, probably 10 years ago i think. Paul went suddenly after a night out.

I went to a Darlo v Hartlepool match at The Reynolds Arena in about 2006ish, it was when Darlo had loads of ex-Sunderland players.

Police horses on the pitch and everything

Following the 92 game the mags knew the game was up for them, things had changed. About 50 of them came through from Jarrow that day a mix of Bender and service crew / gremlins. I know a good few of them and they were taken aback by the size and ferocity of the Seaburn and sunderland mobs that day. They ran the gauntlet all the way along past the Howard and Fort with the sole intention of not getting absolutely fucked. A few days after one of the Benders top lads came over to me at a bar in South Shields and said fair play that mob for Sunderland was f***ing ridiculous.

After the game was worse imo. The old bill let them out same time as us. 7/8k of them walking up to the Cambridge were getting attacked left right and centre from the side streets. They were bemused as fuck.theyve never tried to take the piss since, barring early 2000s when they got off the train and nearly got hoyed over the bridge

Went to a game Darlington v Hartlepool .we played Bristol city that afternoon and they played 18-30 ko ,had a bit of time to kill while changing trains so went down to watch the first half.Real eye opener,Darlo, harltlepool and Boro all scrapping with each other.Boro had also played at home that day, went to catch my connecting train home when a train pulled in discharging lots of mags who had been to Leeds the same afternoon.Crowd was about 6,000 at Darlo and they held the record for the number of arrests for that division for a number of yrs ,well over 200 Beaten by Swansea Cardiff several yrs later.
