I think it's tragic what has happened with Talksport. The concept of a dedicated sports radio channel is an excellent one and I really thought it could take off in the early days but it just gets dumbed down year on year.

They had some excellent presenters in the early days, the gooner that was in Eastenders whose name escapes me (Tom Watt?) was a very good presenter. McInally was half decent I thought. Nowadays the priority seems to be that you if you were half decent playing sport then you'll be a good presenter so we end up with fuckwits like Hussein and Gough who don't have the first inkling how to do the job. Didn't listen to it but I heard they gave AP McCoy a trial gig this week - it's OK having these people doing some specialist insight into their own sport but it doesn't automatically mean they will be good general sport presenters.

An excellent concept gone to waste.
Tom watt was very good

To be honest it might not be a bad thing. When it started off as Talk Radio they had a good mix of programmes and was a good listen. Nowadays it's more about who they can get. I'm surprised 'Arry' hasn't got his own show.
"Arry"will be there once he can get an afternoon slot so that he has time to drive up from the south coast without getting up too early.

Why can't they have sensible debate on there though? They must be financially fucked if they feel they have to have a show that has their presenters deliberately winding up any callers?
Daytime It's the radio equivalent of the Sun or the Star though, truck driver radio. Night time it isn't quite as bad
