Don't know why there's controversy around two spinners. We're not playing two spinners in this match because the pitch doesn't call for it. It was correct to play two for Lords given the pitch. And it's correct that the second spinner should be different to Ali who is right arm off breaks.
So, should they have played two for Trent Bridge - no they shouldn't. The pitch didn't turn but perhaps they thought it would, perhaps it was all down to a misreading of the pitch rather than sticking rigidly to a two-spinner formula.
