That's not true at all.

Yes, it is. It just doesn't get mentioned by many as they're too busy slagging off Van Aanholt. Jones gets caught out of position high up the pitch just as much Van Aanholt and before him, Bardsley.

Completely disagree. The amount of goals we've conceded as a direct result of PVA not concentrating, being took on or being too high up the pitch is far higher than Jones.

That doesn't mean he's not just as bad defensively. It just means that the opposition exploit their right hand side more.

Both have been bad.

Van Aanolt was worse in the sense that he would disappear up the pitch all together and another player would have to cover.

Jones is there but most of the time is too narrow and allows the cross to come in anyway. Basically he is a ghost.

A great example of Jones giving the opposition player too much room is the ayew goal against Swansea.

I would be shaking both of them into ensuring that their number 1 priority is to get in the face of their winger. To be fair to Van Aanolt he has done exactly that in his last 2 games.
