This. The problem with local press is that they rely on having a good relationship with the club; national press can afford to piss the club off by leaking stuff. He'll know more than he's allowed to print/tweet

It doesn't take the wisdom of Solomon to realise that our recruitment has been abysmal for years, at least since Bruce left. Bruce (generally speaking) made decent signings - JOS, Brown, Bent, Mignolet, Sess, Gyan, Catts - certainly signings significantly better than Graham, Rodwell, Bridcutt, Buckley, anybody signed by Di Fanti, the list is endless. They must pick our targets with a pin, they certainly couldn't have scouted them.
I can think of only one reason. Of Bruce, he certainly did buy some good players, then promply sold them all.It doesn't take the wisdom of Solomon to realise that our recruitment has been abysmal for years, at least since Bruce left. The recruitment of managers and/or Directors of Football has been equally bad (Sam excepted) and the common denominators in all of that are Short and Byrne; in accepting that Short owns the bloody place, so he's hardly going to sack himself, what keeps Byrne in a job? She's supposed to be Chief Executive Officer, and had failed time, after time, after time - how does she stay in a job?

I can't believe Bruce wanted to sell Bent and Gyan - maybe Short and Byrne were pulling their short termist strings?I can think of only one reason. Of Bruce, he certainly did buy some good players, then promply sold them all.
As I said he'll know more than he reportshe reported Borini was a no go (hours later he signed). he also said Fer was already for the "scarf above the academy entrance" photo, whilst he was reporting this, Fer was on his way back to London
he was 2 hours behind with the Pants to Watford move

I believe so, that was after the Legion of Light announced "We're on our own now, the boss has done his bit" that was credited to Niall Quinn but came from Short.I can't believe Bruce wanted to sell Bent and Gyan - maybe Short and Byrne were pulling their short termist strings?
Chris Young knows absolutely nothing about what goes on with our transfers
At least Vaughan was free! As was Seb Larsson, last season's player of the year; but I didn't say Bruce was perfect in the transfer market, I said he was better than those who have come since, yes he had some bad signings, but in comparison to O'Neill (Graham for £5m?!), Di Canio (14 signed by Di Fanti), Poyet (Bridcutt, Buckley, Rodwell) he was bloody brilliant.Bruce started this rot, putting substandard players on huge wages and not replacing bent with a proven striker. Oshea ans Brown have been good but for what we are paying them we could have had younger and dare I say better.
Then there was 6 million pound on Craig Gardner, I mean fuck me really, plus the 40k a week he will have been on.
Then there's ji who was well a bloody awful signing. He also brought us elmohammady who was absolutely dog shit and David Vaughan on a free but was on big wages and lasted his whole contract. Not to mention a host of other crap he signed prior to that summer. The only good year he has was his first summer and then gyan signing, after that he destroyed what he built and from there it's just been a giant f***ing calamity.
To be fair, as. i said above, he was acting under orders,Bruce started this rot, putting substandard players on huge wages and not replacing bent with a proven striker. Oshea ans Brown have been good but for what we are paying them we could have had younger and dare I say better.
