He'd still be at man city if he performed week in week out

He can't even get a regular place at a bottom of a table team so no chance of him gan to brazil

Not talking about Brazil mate, more his future at Sunderland. Honestly, think it is a 50/50 chance that he will be away by the end of the month.

Because Adam, in 40 years nobody will remember or be talking about mid week draws against Stoke.

Do you think they'll be talking about winning the Capital One Cup (were we to do so), out of interest?[DOUBLEPOST=1389258018][/DOUBLEPOST]I wonder if people would be happy if we 'did' a Portsmouth.

you know if he wants to go mate, or is the club looking to sell to raise money for other signings?

Why doesn't Johnson tell the players that then.

It seems they only seem up for Chelsea, Man Utd in the cup too based on the Aston Villa and Norwich league games

none of them have sat in the stands on a freezing cold tuesday night to watch absolute rubbish every year. none of them have spent hard earned money coming to watch lads play football and experience the ups and downs of season after season without the thought of being able to take a massive wedge and move onto another club. after their career is over, they go home or abroad or on the tele and earn more cash talking about others playing football. we are still here...waiting for that one thing that every football fan lives for

It's a trophy we've never won. Fair enough, Johnson has other medals but what chance do Colback or Fletcher or Bardsley have of ending their career with a cup winners' medal?

I would rather the players didn't put us in a position where relegation was an option. We are in that position because of the player's dire performances in the league, Johnson being a big culprit.
I would rather the players put a shift in every game, rather than worrying what game the fans want them to win.

Fair enough if anyone thinks staying up is their priority but if you can't understand why fans would rather actually win a trophy than stay up then you're being stupid. It should be very easy to see why.

Supporters looking for landmark achievements to relate their support to. Generally younger fans I think. There is a whole generation who have not been to Wembley or celebrated promotion like we did on 76 80 96.

Truth is the club has been fighting all my life to be an established top level team. That's what I have always wanted more than anything else. 1973 cannot be reproduced - the world has changed. The premiership is all that matters at the end of the day as without it in this day and age you are nothing.

Hopefully he might now bring his head out of his ass and start playing football properly again.

Can be a cracking player on his day and I really hope he gets his head together and plays well.

Adam Johnson: I can't really understand why some fans would rather win a cup than stay up.

He has a point like

No he doesn't.

Any fan who doesn't want to win a cup isn't really a fan. I can understand players preferring to stay up & be an also ran because it pays better but real fan's want to win things & see their team winning games.

Nobody will be talking about Sunderland in 40 years full stop if we go down. Go bust. End up in league 2.

It's actually an alarming lack of ambition swapping the prem for the league cup.

Cashing ya chips in.

The cup should be looked upon as a bonus. Not the priority.

There is absolutely no way Short will allow the club to go under after the amount of money he's ploughed into it. He'd do ewxactly the same as Ashley did for the skunks & cover the shortfall.

The lack of amition is not trying to win a cup.

Idiot. He's won a Premiership title and played for England and you have spent your life watching Sunderland heroes such as Grag Halford, Clive Clarke and Pal McShane.....
That league stopped existing in 2007.
