Nobody will be talking about Sunderland in 40 years full stop if we go down. Go bust. End up in league 2.

It's actually an alarming lack of ambition swapping the prem for the league cup.

Cashing ya chips in.

The cup should be looked upon as a bonus. Not the priority.

But we won't go bust or end up in League 2 if we get relegated so I'm failing to see your point

Premier league every day of the week for me.

Get relegated, who is to say we'll get promoted again, thus falling further and further behind

Go to Wembley, see the club actually win something, go down and have some great away days and have a go winning the championship....

Or...

Last season & this season on repeat for another few years...

Didn't u realise people would still be talking about the glorious day sunderland won the tin cup in 40 years?

I can't even remember who won it last year. Or the year before.

The Cup is a priority, as is every other game. If we get through to the Final - and even win it, it will give us even more momentum...

Okay then, what can we realistically achieve in the Premier League long term?

Long term anything is possible. Short term not a lot. But you have to be in it to win it. You also really have to be in it to win a cup. As you're squad is better. The football is better.

Swansea last year, Liverpool the year before ( I think ) ;)

"Staying in the Premier League is much more important," said the erstwhile England winger. "It's about being a Premier League footballer"

Selfish in the extreme.

Man City and Chelsea have too much oil money to ever compete with them. Man Utd and Liverpool's brands are too strong, they would buy good player from an up and coming side. Even f***ing Spurs are in a different league financially.

Sunderland winning a cup doesn't come along that often, if it was a choice the I'd choose the cup. We could get promoted back to the prem straight away

being the team we love, mediocrity is a reality, but a top 4 finish would be the dream  maybe we'll win the Premier League one day, Cup this year - then the world !!!

Haway Sunderland, keep the faith lads and lasses ;)
