Acquired Savant Syndrome

And the only way to find out if you can unlock more is to suffer a severe head injury?

Sounds legit.

Happened to someone in the care home the sister in law works at.
No interaction at all until she had a fall and banged her head, they thought the worst but it unlocked her in a sense, like a new woman.

Fascinating this. They reckon we only use 5% of our brain. Is this proof we could all be a genius deep down?

The proposition that we only use a small percentage of our brain is a myth that has been thoroughly debunked by technologies like MRI.

We use 100% of our brain - just not all the time at the same time. The savant phenomenon proves that anyone could be a genius.

Sounds more like people with intelligence having a bit of a personality change and taking an interest in something they weren't bothered about previously.

I wouldn't call being a human spirograph particularly useful.

As for the bloke that can remember he went to a pizza place many years ago; so what, Prince Andrew can do that...
