+++|||*** Accrington Stanley v Sunderland ***|||+++

Said this on another thread, but this is just like the nonsense Poyet got from some of our lot. All his fault when we lose, lucky or not pretty enough when we win. Pathetic tbh.
That second half man. Accrington could have easily scored a second then wed have probably camped in our box

You must be gutted. We won by two clear goals and could have had more.

I know. We had ten minutes of the ninety where we knocked the ball around reasonably well. The rest was awful. The second half? What a shit show. Gutless from first to last. Attempting to "control" a game with players who can't string two passes together as they're so confined by this lads negativity.
Irritating bloke

Not the best performance today but a good three points in the bag.

Came out looking a bit lacklustre and inevitably Stanley scored. Disappointed with Gooch for that. Leadbitter absolutely tore strips off him and he bucked his ideas up after that and played well. His goal was outstanding. Needs to keep a cool head though as he was getting argumentative at times with their players which could land him in bother.

McLaughlin was generally solid. Made some good saves in the second half from Stanley set pieces.

Ozturk and Willis both played well at the back overall. They seem to be getting to know each other well and read what each other is going to do.

O'Nien didn't do much today. He just seemed like he was having an off day. Hume on the other side put in a decent performance and tried hard to move the play further up the field when we sat back in the second half.

Dobson was decent most of the time but had a few wobbles and kept leaving space that they exploited to get forward. Leadbitter was also the same at times.

McGeady and McNulty both scored decent goals. They both made some good runs forward.

Maguire was up to his usual tricks of buzzing around and generally being a nusiance. He frustrated them a lot.

All the subs were the right thing to do, given that we play again on Tuesday night. Grigg almost scored.

It's not as woeful as some comments make out. It's a league one team playing in league one. We're going to get these games where you just grind out the result and take the points rather than play flowing enjoyable football. People have to get used to that.

Highlight of the day was Accrington singing at us "Premiership, you fucked it up!" so we sang back "Premiership, you'll never know"

How many times under Ross have we played 'enjoyable flowing football'?

Well, we won. Mind, the opposition were so poor it would have been almost impossible to lose. Yet we conceded an early goal... again. We failed to dominate, show any signs of progression in terms of cohesion, shape, still no identity. We look like a rabble, totally and utterly dependent on the fact that we have a couple of players slumming it a division below where they could probably function.

Last season the manager got away with it because he was new. I'm not sure what the excuse is now. The manager and most of the players have been together a full season and longer, yet still we don't seem to have gelled.

Sums up the match then, thankfully there was some Pride and Passion today...shame it was at the Last night of the Proms

Enjoyed the first half but the second half was infuriating. I thought we went direct far too often which led to us gifting them possession without threatening their defence enough. They lacked any sort of quality and we dealt with them pretty well from a defensive standpoint but I wish we would be a bit braver in possession and play the ball on the deck a bit more.

No. It's just another stick to beat him with, which people are desperate for when we are winning. Jumping up and down shouting doesn't make you a good coach.

Not many people would have been criticising him after the Wimbledon win. In fact lots of people were commenting on here about 'where have the Ross haters disappeared to' and the like. That's because it was a decent performance and easy win.

Today wasn't like that. It was painful at times, and that's the norm as opposed to the Wimbledon example.
