It has happened in the past on very rare occasions from a small number of people tbf.

But saying loads of our support were gagging for us to lose today is clearly wrong.

It was shit today. But we won against a half decent league 1 team. People are happy with the result, but perhaps concerned with the performances, and a clear lack of pace in the team.

I don't think anyone is saying that loads of our support are gagging for us to lose but some people are reluctant to accept that the situation we're in can't be turned around quickly (we needed to go up first time round to do that). The obvious lack of pace is a concern for everyone but until we get better, wealthier owners, I'm not sure that's going to be addressed. Essentially, in Maja, we had the striker we need(ed) but chose to let him go.

- Our football is dire
- We're not creating loads
- Wyke is a f***ing disgrace of a footballer
- We have no pace whatsoever up front
- Without Maguire we are totally devoid of quality and creativity in the final third and it is f***ing madness to freeze McGeady out.
- Burge is still iffy
- Willis, Wright and Flanagan were constantly beaten for pace and guile
- Scowen didn't take his chance
- Maguire wasn't in it
- Gooch struggled to get in the game
- All of our strikers do fuck all and none are good enough to start
- The team selection of strikers shouldn't be pick and mix every week
- There's no way we are getting out of this league with this clown in charge
- Wyke is shocking
- O'Brien is a poor buy
- That was terrible

What happened to enjoying an important win on a Saturday night? We've got 7 points from three games - including two against playoff sides from last season. We're in the play off places and only two points off the leaders. We aren't conceding goals. Every player, however limited, is giving 100%.

Are people going to whinge on like this all season if we keep winning all season? If so, do they not think they may be happier finding a different hobby other than following a football team who they can't wait to slag off?

Is this a Parkinson thing? That people are so blinded by the fact they wanted Kevin Phillips or whoever that they will just slag the guy off even when he is getting good results?
Im usually regarded by some on here as a happy clapper. :)

However, we are desperate for some creativity and pace. We are so slow and predictable. A blind man from a thousand miles away can see it.

Happy with the win but I dont think its too much to ask for SAFC to win and play good football in Div 3?

On a positive note if we can win by playing poorly it is a good sign I suppose. However, lets get some pace in the team, play quicker football and at least try to be creative eh?

it's probably even more negative that usual without the matchday experience for those of us that gan, it's just watching the dire shit that is served up. great to get a result, but most of those complaints are warrented. try not to let it get to you

I'm chuffed with the win and the fact that we've taken points off Oxford and Peterborough so early in the season. It gives us a good grounding going into October. If those results give the players a bit of confidence to push on and have more belief in the final third than they've shown so far then I'm chuffed with that as well.

But that has to be tempered with the realisation that we look very uncertain going forward. What's our plan to break teams down who close up to frustrate us? Where's the killer instinct in and round the box? Do we look like a team who can break effectively, switch play when needed, or can be patient enough to pick out a decisive pass when faced with 9 men ahead of us? I didn't see the Oxford game but the home games have been very unconvincing for me and I believe we'll get found out unless we up our game going forward.

The fact that we've stated with a different front man in each of the three league matches so far suggests that PP is unconvinced as well.

Yes, we have an issue in that we haven't got a convincing goalscorer who suits our system.

I'm not really disputing the fact that we have weaknesses, limitations, and doubts. It's more the fact that that is all that many people want to talk about, even when things are going well, that puzzles me.

I'll settle for wins tbh. How many teams played consistently good football in League One last year? I'm not aware of any tbh. It's a tinpot league, with loads of shite teams, and consistency and grinding out results is what works. Peterborough and Oxford were about the only teams who weren't painful on the eyes last season. And we've beaten both of them already.

It's not getting to me. I just don't understand it and I don't understand people who are getting wound up by performances even when we are winning.

Was just gonna say similar ,remember the board said after bristol game ,god help us Oxford away and Posh at home ,2 defeats nailed on .Think we wont see a settled side or performance for a few games yet.Its been a strange pre season and until we can bring some pace in he will just rotate the forwards we have until he finds the right blend. In the meantime he will just try to win games in any way possible .

Why do people insist that others can’t be happy that we’ve won, but still have concerns over the performance?

It’s like the same idiots who think fans want us to lose just because they don’t rate Parkinson.

What was concerning about winning and keeping a clean sheet? We are in league 1. The footballs shit. We won. Be happy.

The lad I was responding to said exactly that mate. It is of course complete nonsense.

I agree with what you're saying re. the team though. Although getting promoted is so important this year with the salary cap, so maybe we should be doing a touch more more to address that issue.

Im pleased we’re winning games but still have absolutely no faith in the manager. Long term he isn’t the answer but I’d be delighted if he got us promoted.

I disagree with you but you're entitled to your opinion and it's put across in a very fair and reasonable manner, while acknowledging the success of the team is important to you irrespective of how it's achieved. It's the people who seem genuinely disappointed or even angry when we win that I can't understand.

Added my comments to it. Seen SAFC from 73, so I've seen a lot of our football.

My ex gaffer is a posh fan and I text him after the game to tell him they were the better side throughout. They could have been out of sight in the first 20 mins.

We're severely lacking in pace. When we turn over possesion, the opposition could walk back, we're that slow. Charlie Wyke? f***ing hopeless.

This is a depressing thread with fans daggers drawn. Let's just all celebrate the win but hope for better football with more creativity and urgency up front.
There is still time to sign someone with pace up top; to see if Kimpioka (who is quick) can kick on and to introduce Neill into the mix.
I will just agree with Arkle, who dropped Maja's name in a few posts back. If we'd kept him, we'd have gone up. Just shows what can be done with a natural goalscorer -- even if he's a rookie.
Meanwhile, cheer up fellas...it's a decent start.

I think critiquing performance is fine, but yes we should all be happy we are winning... it might not last long 🙈... sorry

3 games into a 46 game season you better believe performances matter. We won't stumble through the next 43 games winning week in week out.

Well we have only conceded 1 goal in 3 games. And scored in every game. Thats pretty good going so far if you ask me. We also haven't lost and beat 2 of the stronger teams in the division.
