"They said they were devastated knowing that Sharleen’s mum could pass away before they got the chance to say a proper goodbye. After making a series of frantic phone calls they were told that a lift could be arranged for them in three hours, but even then that would only get them to the nearest train station. Luckily, Dean Moore, on seeing the stricken pair, stopped his car and offered a helping hand. The ‘Good Samaritan’ had never met the couple before but offered to drive them the full 200 miles and refused to take any payment. His actions and sheer selflessness meant the pair got to Sharleen’s mum in time to say their parting wishes. She added: ‘This happened on the Sunday and she died the next day, she died on Monday."
