If I was a student looking for a subject matter, I'd use Aberfan and Grenfell Tower and compare and contrast all the factors leading up to, the event itself and the aftermath. It would make a fascinating study of how things change over the years.
Episode 3 from season 3 of the Crown, Aberfan. Parts of the Crown have played a bit loose with the facts but not this, before my time but an honest depection from those that know. Including the Queens own personal struggle to attend / deal with it, most unlike her and no doubt a regret. Have the kleenex handy if you watch it though.
