Just had mine routine checked in a screening . What a good idea , if they go youre in bother . Gerard Houlier job.

Nah mate its fine just an ultrasound . They reckon owt over 3cm they bother about mine was 1.6 cm . Still, apparently you can be walking around with a massive one and have no signs . Good programme from the NHS

The one Houllier had is a bit different and much more uncommon - he had a dissecting aneurysm in the chest and there isnt any screening for that

The Abdominal one is automatic I think and all blokes should get sent for a scan aged 65

Aortic dissection tends to be pretty symptomless too and flag as heartburn, IIRC.

Can be hereditary so if someone in family gets diagnosed at youngish age its good idea for all relatives to get it checked every few years.
