A sign of the times

walked into a bar in Durham, been here about an hour, 5 people playing cards on a table, probably a pint between them, if that.

Alongside the obvious increases, One of the reasons pubs are finished.

I walked into a bar in Durham and there was a table with 5 people playing cards, one pint between them and then one lad and his missus staring at their phones nursing a couple of drinks between them. Looked like they’d been there about an hour.

I turned round and walked out.

I was in Durham last night - 3 drinks - £24

Thats why pubs are finished.
I went to a Chinese on way home and thought fck it I’ll get a tray of chips. Thought he said £2.90. Bit steep I thought compared to last time I was here but handed over three quid “No, £3.90” he says. Fcking mental - basically paying a quid per potato:lol:

Odd.
Had my first day out of the year yesterday. In Durham city centre.
Started at 1, left at 7
Everything was absolutely packed out. Every single place we went in was busy as owt.
