It means they deleted a post, and you had quoted it so they deleted yours too
Thanks i had guessed that i just couldn't remember what it was about!I have had stuff deleted before with no explanation and if people are to learn they really need a better explanation from the mods

The archaic words idiot, moron and imbecile were medical names for people with three different levels of learning difficulties. All are used in general conversation today.

M*ngoloid and Sp*stic were genuine medical names for Down's Syndrome and cerebral palsy respectively. They are highly offensive and anyone with a brain should know that.

I think it's likely that the latter are so offensive because they are easily recognisable and distinguishable conditions (and M*ngoloid is offensive to east Asians!), whereas the former terms are kind of subjective and vague terms for people who are, as a lay person might have said a decade or two back, 'a bit slow'.

It's strange how language develops. Back in the day (I was born in 1966), I don't think I'd even heard of 'cerebral palsy' or 'Down's Syndrome'. It's horrendous to look back and consider that disabled people were named by their conditions, ie 'a 'm*ngoloid' and 'a sp*stic', rather than a human being who's an unfortunate sufferer of those tough challenges.

It makes me cringe...
