In a word yes, he had ample opportunity to contextualise the situation but took the cheap shot way out in my opinion.

Another one.
Has to be said. Red and white specs on lads.Anyone in football would have had the same treatment with those remarks in their past. Lets drop the persecution complex eh?
Step outside your bubble for a minute. Think RAWK and then think again. Does you good once in a while man.

So why wasn't West Ham dedication of a lounge to Di Canio brought up at the time, which was Sept 2010, and if it's such a heinous crime, why wasn't West Ham dedicating a lounge to a known fascist a factor in the Olympic Stadium bid?
Went back to Italy. He played for Lazio, Ternana, Juventus, Napoli and Milan before he moved to Celtic.

Well done mate you're justifying the OP anyway.
Honored by West Ham as a footballer. Footballers are expected to be stupid. Theyre glorified for their raw talent and contribution on the pitch alone.
Management is a different kettle of fish altogether. Theyre responsible for an entire playing staff of highly paid "assets", for enforcning discipline. They appear at least once a week on national tv, they're singularly responsible for PR on behalf of their club.
And before you mention Swindon they've a fifth of our fan base in a league with a 100 times smaller reach. This time everything is magnified out of proportion.

David Sullivan saying he wouldnt employ him as a manager unless he renounced his fascist views, the same man who sells Di Canio shirts, mugs and signed photos of Di Canio in the club shop, the same man who sells dildos to housewives getting holier than thou.
Basically, all sh-t to one side, he is an ordinary ex Third Division Manager (in old money) with extraordinary views. We have reverted to type, football wise.
But he gives a lot of pleasure. If you buy two rabbits will they breed?

What difference is there with Sunderland employing PDC as a manager who made comments about Mussolini and created a huge media shitstorm when employed by Sunderland to that of Luis Felipe Scolari going to Chelsea after publicly lauding General Pinochet and his methods in the media yet with no political fallout when he became Chelsea manager.

What is the difference because to me it seems the only one i can find is the geography between the 2 clubs, West Ham haven't been dragged into trial by media despite having a corporate section named after Di Canio, is this not endorsing Fascism?
How about the Sun employing Di Canio as a football columnist then savagely attacking him not 4 months later for his links to fascism, hypocrisy is the way of the media it seems as it was no problem for a large newspaper to employ him but it is morally wrong and unethical for him to be employed in his profession.
