For me as a teenager during the 90s it was the emergence of West Coast Gangsta rap
 


The world suddenly changing for the worse in the mid 90s, Premier League, Sky, Credit cards, mobiles, computers, tories and neo-liberalism, the end of cold winters
 
Double denim, brightly coloured jeans, paisley shirts, Timberland boots, 20 Marlborough Light for under £5, Trainspotting, good Tarantino films, Doom, Quake, Prodigy, Nirvana, good metal bands pretending to be alternative rock, meeting my Mrs, finally getting shot of the Tories, the 92 cup run, Peter Reid.
