Absolutely mental to think we’re testing nearly a million on a weekend. Makes the cases stat look even better
Aye, I thought the drop in case numbers was a bit disappointing but when you see the number of cases it makes sense that more are being caught that otherwise would have gone undetected.

No reds

Given those figures are so low and will be close to zero in some areas it would be the ideal time for some sort of tier based system to help things open up quicker in areas with little to no covid...

Worked perfectly well last time mind.

If anything I can see certain things being allowed a little quicker but on a national level only.

that very same tier system many were complaining about? Government is dammed if they do and dammed if they don’t. Whilst I’m desperate for stuff to open up I’d rather go that little bit longer this time round as it seems like we are so close to getting to a point where we can learn to live with this virus

Much of that must be going on using the postal system. I got a letter the other day that said I had been selected at random for a test to be sent to me. You just go online and agree. Said once I did the test a courier would pick up the result. I suppose that gives them a better picture of the number of people infected and how many may be asymptomatic although the test doesn't indicate if you've had the virus in the past. May also show how effective the vaccines are as I had the Pfizer one four weeks ago although I don't think that was a condition for the test. They must be working out the overall presence of the virus in the community as that is a huge sample base.

All those people being tested. Are they mostly made up of health workers getting their daily checks. Actual new cases suggest the public are less likely to seek out tests.
