The fire department also responded with ballistic gear, the Sentinel reported.

The company, which operates MillerCoors, told employees in an email that an active shooter was located in or near the packaging building's second-floor stairwell, the Sentinel reported.

Police responded shortly after 2 p.m. to a report of a shooting, the newspaper reported, citing police logs.

The newspaper cited fire department emergency radio broadcasts that said there were seven victims and that the suspect had killed themself.

And the thing is its not even the top news story in America or anywhere close to it. Only have to look at the hill main website to have to scroll down a bit to even find the story.

Same with the NY Times, had to use search bar to find it shoved in the bottom right somewhere - Breaking News, World News & Multimedia

Mass shootings only become a worthy news bulletin if 30+ are dead, that's how numb they've become to them. If this happened in the UK there would be wall to wall coverage for a week.

89 percent of Americans favor expanded background checks for gun purchasers;
76 percent support "red flag" laws to identify dangerous persons and deny them guns,
75 percent favor a voluntary buyback program in which the government would purchase firearms from current owners.
62 percent of Americans favor a ban on the sale of semi-automatic weapons.

Why does nothing ever happen on the matter?

Pro Gun Groups last year paid out over $11 million to politicians
They paid that money in various amounts to 307 members of congres
Congress has 535 members in total

In the USA bribing politicians is legal and encouraged

It is as simple as that.

Putin channeled about $7m into Trumps election campaign via the NRA. Because of its charitable status it doesn’t have to declare where donations come from just whereabouts any outgoings go. Putin gave $10m and NRA kept $3m or so as a sort of fee.
The FBI n CIA separately briefed the press off the record. NYT n Wash Times iirc.

Putin didn’t even have to bother with any if the gold mine nonsense he used to fund the Leave campaign

Something something "silver bullet reference" something something.

Another waste of lives. You can hope they'll change, but the evidence doesn't look promising.

The thing is, everything in the U.S is negatively affected by one thing.

The reason they don't have healthcare is the same reason they don't have better gun control is the same reason they keep having massive tax cuts for rich people is the same reason they have poor environmental standards is the same reason these graphs below show the problem in full

This graph is staggering for a democracy.

The percentage along the bottom is support of the population by average polling across the nation

The chart going up shows the chances of a piece of legislation being adopted.

In short, it doesn't matter how many people support legislation, it barely moves on chances of being done.

Now look at how those graphs align for rich people and interest groups.
Both massive donors to politicians.

Aligns exactly as you would expect.

Money in Politics is the main problem for everything in the U.S

It’s all to common now. It’s not even headline worthy anymore. There’ll be more than 7 people die in road accidents in the UK today but we won’t hear of it.

The road deaths aren't likely to have all been due to the same problem that legislation can improve. Note also that they are accidents
