60 people shot in mass shooting at Indianaopolis FedEx facility

If anything is going to cause a change in american gun laws this will be it, R. I. P the poor souls.
I love and admire your optimism but really, no.

A man going into a primary school and killing 20 6-7 year olds didn't change their gun laws in any meaningful way. A man shooting from a hotel window in Las Vegas killed 60 and injured over 400, and that didn't either.

There's something deeply broken in that country and it's not just about gun laws.

Your actually probably right.

yep, 61 killed and over 400(!) injured in the Las Vegas shooting and no meaningful gun control came from it.. the country is fucked. slight glimmer of hope with a democrat in the WH but really not sure if there will be any real change.

I dunno. At the Las Vegas casino shooting and I remember an uncle who was killed standing next to his niece. The niece was still horrified at the thought of any gun controls. I think the gum obsession and the literal interpretation of the laws might just be at the centre of things.

The problem with USA gun law change is that it almost certainly would result in lots of deaths. The cult of far right patriots just wouldn’t accept it and would fight, literally, for their antiquated and ridiculous amendment rights. It’s a no win situation for any government.
I don’t think this is true. There would be a lot of huffing and puffing but it would get done. It would need to be phased over 10 years though. But assault weapons is the starting point. Nobody needs an assault rifle. Then go for handguns.

Very much this. The conversation pretty much ended after Sandy Hook as America showed even then it wasn't really interested in gun law changes, even when small children are the victims they are very much ok with people having easy access to guns

While the rest of the world looks on horrified at their never ending mass shootings, America has effectively decided that all those that die from them are acceptable collateral damage.

That’ll be a few parcels not getting delivered today then.

These gunmen never think of the consequences do they ? , bastards.
You right the gunmen will never think on the consequences, parents who will never go home to their children, family and friends who will never see the love one again and the years of grief. It so sad that these shooting continue to happen

It's absolutely pointless debating the gun laws in that country. They'll never change. It's just gonna be easier to accept the fact that shit like this happens once every few months and just get on with our lives.

FWIW I'm not defending the second amendment as I think it's archaic lunacy. I just don't think it'll ever change unfortunately.
