5th Test

Talk of Crane too. It's got all the makings for me of a Kerrigan/Borthwick situation. It fills me with no confidence at all. Just damage limitation.

None of the squad players are at all inspiring. I'd like to see Foakes given a go, him aside though, they can all fuck off.

not happy with bayliss coming out and saying 'since the series is lost we might as well have a look at some other players'
thats what county cricket, tour matches and selectors are for...not new years day tests where people have forked out a lot of money to see England put out their best team.

Problem with that is Bayliss has made it perfectly clear that he couldn't give a fuck about County cricket.

used to think Fletcher was bad in that he only wanted bowlers that could bowl 90mph even if they couldnt hit the strip (SAJ) bt at least he'd seen enough of county cricket to pick the batsman out like Trescothick, Vaughan, KP, Bell etc...

Given that FTECB don't give a toss about county cricket themselves, it's hardly surprising that "watch county cricket" is not in the head coach's job description.

Steve Smith saying he wants to play in County Cricket ... and it seems a few of the other Aussie squad want to do the same.

But ..... the reverse doesn't seem to on the cards.

You know it might be a good idea for there to be a regular County elect team playing in the Sheffield Shield as if they were a 'State' .. have more games in the comp and give some English players better down under experience.

Yet our counties will snap them up.

We shouldn't be picking them, fuck them!

I can see where you 're coming from but it must be a great learning curve for young aspiring bowlers to bowl against top internationals and they rarely get the opportunity to bowl at England test players. Should have been a great opportunity to play with or against the likes of Pointing and Langer when they were overseas pros here. And Rocky learnt a hell of a lot from MDV.

Fuck that. The bastards only want to come over to get in better shape for 2019. It's like their board have a plan. The only convicts we should entertain are T20 mercenaries and those who have retired from test cricket but can offer something to our county teams in terms of coaching/experience. Current test squad can fuck right off.

Morally, you are correct but you know if we got the chance to snap up Smith or Warner we would do it in a second, just like we did with Sangakkara.

Imagine if Smith came and played a few games man, it would bring loads of interest and excitement to Durham. Just as it would any county, no way anyone would turn him down.

Actually. I'd be sound with it if there was a reciprocal agreement. But there wont be. The stupid twats at the ECB wouldnt be able to see any benefits to their contracted players going over there....we'd have some pre tour training camp arranged for six weeks at Loughborough where they'd turn the heating and humidity up in the nets to replicate conditions.

Having said that I'd draw the line with Warner. I can't f***ing abide him. Along with Haddin he's the most classless piece of scum to have played test cricket.

I note he was slagging Swann off on Twitter yesterday. Which on the face of it appears to be fair bait except the dozy shite was actually criticizing Channel 10 for wasting money by employing Swann. That'll be Channel 10 who probably paid a shitstack to CA for broadcasting rights to the BBL. I bet CA are delighted he's slagging off one of their major partners.

Let's be honest. If the likes of Smith and Warner did come over, they'd only end up at Surrey. That isn't too worrying for England, because the pitches there aren't particularly 'English' are they?!

Don't think we can afford any of them to be honest anyway.

Cricket Australia aren't going to entertain that

Cracking idea that.

Like they'd allow that....
