Smith uses up far too many balls in 50 over cricket IMO.
Tries to play the role Root does in our side, but Root is far better at strike rotation and keeping the scoreboard ticking. Smith tends to get stuck.
Loads of people were also leaving before the end mind. The stadium is only accessible by train, and 50k people leaving all at once (for one train service north and one south) isn't ever going to end well. I'd guess about 10k walked away early from a thrilling climax just to avoid a 3hr wait to get home. Must do better, Transperth. Dutch style double decker trains?
The local media are getting stuck in to Steve Smith's one day batting and captaincy today.
We were out on the piss there after anyway, so it didn't bother us. But the trains looked jammed and you couldn't get anywhere near the station for people. I don't think they've thought that through.
