Being in the South East, I follow Kent, and yesterday we played Somerset in the 50 over competition and they scored 383 off of their 50 overs. However, nothing to do with bad weather, Somerset were set a target of 374 off of 48 overs - that seems to punish both teams - can anyone tell me what the rule is with regard to not getting the 50 0vers bowled in the allotted time?

It wasn't punishment there was a rain delay so 2 overs lost. Revised target was Duckworth Lewis

I assumed that game was weather interrupted as the rule for not completing your overs was a 6 run penalty for each over not completed as confirmed here:

Thanks for that, we had such glorious weather here yesterday, a rain delay really hadn't crossed my mind - just thought that 383 runs of 50 overs had meant they hadn't got through their overs in time - and we nearly blew it
