You never walk like, ever, its not the right thing to do at all.

You are only out when the umpire gives you out.
100% this. Seen it loads when clearly out and stayed. Yes it’s good from the lad and “nice” but one it wastes more time till lunch. Two if they had no reviews left yet would have stayed.

Even when you play at a lower level you do that been 3-4 times when I’ve been out umpire has not given it and I’ve just stood. I’ve also had times when I know I’ve not been out and the bowlers appealed and got it.
That’s just cricket swings and round abouts.

drop him and roy and briny them back for the one dayers. Bairstow is a decent keeper but he is on for his batting aand that has been reaspnably poor as well

Absolutely pointless persisting with Roy in Tests. He will never be a test player but he’s a decent ODI one.

May as well try Foakes as wk and try bringing another batsman in for Bairstow.

I’ve got no issue with walking
Just watched a clip on Twitter. I’d have more of an issue with the umpiring.

You can see the expressions on the players faces before the ball even reaches Payne’s gloves. Based on that alone, it is beyond doubt.

If the umpire didn’t think he was out, he’d be the only one on the pitch.

Rest Stokes from the fifth test and send him first class all expenses paid to the Maldives for three weeks. He's done his part and is exhausted.

Denly is a good example of what we were talking about yesterdat, this false misconseption about "bottling it" or being "mentally weak"

Nobody can say Denly doesn't have guts or balls, almost every innings he just about gets himself him, despite being completely out of form. He has took many blows to the body, and has battled on against 3 bowlers hitting the stumps bowling high 80s/early 90s when its reverse swining

The reality is, he probably isn't quite up to test standard technique wise, which means he will get out eventually, but he is doing his best and I think has really dug in at times,

Its easy for people on a message board to look at a list of averages saying, pick him, pick him, but he is out there getting stuck in, its hard against this bowling and there is no easy answer

Good post. Good batsman is Denly. International class? Debatable. Definitely has something though.

I’m really not sure the additional 60 seconds or so helps us

Cummins didn't really appeal mind, I know Paine was sure, but after Leeds can't say 100% would of reviewed.

Just think its a dangerous thing to do

Been a fair few small edges this series that weren't reviewed.
