Great decision to pick that mug Overton.
Root isn’t fit to lead like. Got two free wickets this morning and he’s been completely f***ing clueless at how to get these two out. Shit bowling changes, shit bowling plans, shit fields.

Completely shit his f***ing pants.

It was one delivery, its nowhere near enough mind and he's bowled poorly overall.

I can only assume Woakes wasn't fully fit as there's no way he should be dropped based on form.
Woakes has been in absolutey rancid form and probably needed to be dropped, but to be dropped for that waste of a shirt is just an insult.

Labu-(NICE AREAS)-shane's innings in the series so far:

59
74
80
49*

where the fuck has this kid come from that he wasn't selected ahead of Harris, Bancroft, Khawaja, Head or Wade?

Was averaging 26.25 from 8 innings before this series and now he's like Smith Mk.II

Going to be a long game. Not sure why Archer starts out bowling bouncers, plenty of time left for that. Stokes isn’t good enough to be third seamer and Overton comes across as a joke pick tbh. Plenty of good county options in the bowling department and having an 81mph “fast” bowling all rounder won’t cut it tbh

He’s had more than his fair share of luck don’t forget that also. He does leave well though and doesn’t invite trouble which is something we and most of the Aussies don’t do.

Playing county cricket. Mad how preparing for a test series by playing red ball, leads to a player doing well in red ball.

As I've already said our genius ECB will have our test match players preparing for next summer playing 16.4 over matches.

We either seem to bowl sessions when hardly anything would hit the stumps or overcorrect to bowling middle and leg for lbw and then wonder why batsmen clip it away with ease.

Criticism of Overton is a joke. Woakes, Anderson, Stone and Wood are all crocked and we dont really have anyone else that can get good players out on flat wickets. Those that think Curran's 80mph dobbers would have any success on that track are mental but ive no doubt his stock will rise by not being picked.

It’s raining, hopefully it rains for 3 days.

I didn’t say anything about Curran. Overton’s selection is a joke.

Wind is forecast to be up to 40mph+ by half 3/4 and it’s already blowing a gale.

BBC says its in the teens, but their forecast is different from the Metoffice for some reason they've got it at 80% chance of heavy rain from 5 onwards, yet its only 30-40% on the BBC.

Thought they let that drift somewhat. Could they not have given the opening bowlers a dart?

Raining a bit. Enough to keep them off, but not that bad. Fancy some kore play today.

Hardy's shiraz cave sav £25 a bottle.

Honestly don’t know what your issue with Curran is here. Overton is barely getting above 80mph himself, his selection looks utterly ridiculous so far to me. Not threatening, no pace or bounce and we’ve already got two better bowlers of his type in the side. Curran, while not Starc levels of pace, at least offers something different. He had something of a golden arm last summer, none of the Aussies have seen him, particularly the two twats who are in now, who we can’t get out. Then throw his batting in the mix and the early signs are that the joke really is that he’s not been selected here.

Especially when his angle is both different and another challenge to smith who goes a long way across at times.

My issue with Curran is that he isnt good enough to get good players out on flat pitches nothing more, nothing less. I like him actually, fantastic attitude, great competitor, potential to be a very good batsman and a clever one day bowler. In addition put him on a green seamer and he is also very useful. None of that made him a good selection for this match. That doesnt mean Overton is either but i'm not having one one hand people slagging off his selection in favour of someone else who is equally unsuitable. I think your 'golden arm' stuff is a bit of a nonsense argument given that his 'golden arm' was on green seamers as is the fact that the early signs are that he should have been picked. If Overton goes for 0-100 thats what i would have expected from Curran on this deck. His last 4 day effort was 1 for 92 against Hants off 22 overs getting the number 11 out and he looked completely innocuous on a pitch as flat as this one. Not a test match bowler.
