Possibly. My journey in kept me on main roads but ive got mates and people i pop out to see in woolyback land, lanchester, stanley, tanfield, burnhope etc etc and its a totally different kettle of fish over there when the snow comes down. Lots of narrow winding roads and steep gradients. No matter what 4x4 with winter tyres you drive it comes down to how the car in front performs and they're the ones that block the roads. I think some people who don't ever get out to those types of areas in bad weather genuinely don't understand the types of problems encountered. Was I the only one yesterday who found the roads on Wearside/Washington/Durham virtually impassable from two hours before kick-off ?
Many people didn't even get there but I guess would be counted in the attendance figure as tickets sold.
Dunno.
I looked at the crowd yesterday and thought it looked better than some suggest but only because it was fuller in areas usually empty/quiet. If you look at the photo the lad posted up before kick-off and even though it highlights the worst parts of the ground it's far from empty even in those areas. Maybe they added non attending ST Holders to those who actually did make it.
