Was I the only one yesterday who found the roads on Wearside/Washington/Durham virtually impassable from two hours before kick-off ?
Many people didn't even get there but I guess would be counted in the attendance figure as tickets sold.
Dunno.
Possibly. My journey in kept me on main roads but ive got mates and people i pop out to see in woolyback land, lanchester, stanley, tanfield, burnhope etc etc and its a totally different kettle of fish over there when the snow comes down. Lots of narrow winding roads and steep gradients. No matter what 4x4 with winter tyres you drive it comes down to how the car in front performs and they're the ones that block the roads. I think some people who don't ever get out to those types of areas in bad weather genuinely don't understand the types of problems encountered.

I looked at the crowd yesterday and thought it looked better than some suggest but only because it was fuller in areas usually empty/quiet. If you look at the photo the lad posted up before kick-off and even though it highlights the worst parts of the ground it's far from empty even in those areas. Maybe they added non attending ST Holders to those who actually did make it.

I haven't got a superiority complex by any means, I know where we are in the grand scheme of things, it's a large minority of Sunderland fans who think they should be competing with Tottenham and not Leicester.

There the big six.

YYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNN

People saying the ground was half empty are wrong, the whole upper tier including the away section was the busiest its been all season, maybe barring the newcastle game.
Lot's of people are making judgements purely on the lower tier, which had more empty seats towards the front in the rain. The cameras weren't visually kind to the numbers actually in the ground but i agree, maybe they'd included ST's as attendees.
That does suggest fairweather support avoided nag the snow and rain at the front;)

Us old Roker Enders knaa the craic.;)

I used to get them when I sold Roker Bingo
Ahhh the ghost of Corny O'Donnell ;)

Remember Roker Park was 20 years a go with 22,000 so get off your high horse.

If we had the stadium there'd be 60,000 at the moment.

I've already said on this thread that:
You can't buy a ST at Leicester because it's capped to 23,000.
You can't buy a Gold Membership because it's capped to 18,000
You can't buy a Family Fox Membership because it's capped to 9,000

You can buy Silver and Bronze Memberships because they are unlimited but what good are they when all the above buy all the tickets for matches?
http://www.lcfc.com/tickets/memberships/

Remember Leicester is twice the size of Sunderland and Leicestershire is twice the size of Durham. It's only logical that we have a big fan base.

I'd hate to be your cat, you sound a very angry man.

60,000.

This is why you're such losers, you have a losing mentality.

You would much rather support a club that was shit and had good gates than a good club with poor gates.

It's so sad to see that attendance is the most important thing at the club and you couldn't care less if it's free tickets, two for a tenner or whatever.

The biggest irony is the way you slate Newcastle for being deluded when you are the most deluded fans I've ever come across by an absolute street. How embarrassing for the decent Sunderland supporters that you constantly call other regional clubs "tinpot" and somehow think you deserve better because of your bloated attendance supplemented by freebies and offers when clubs with half your gates pull in similar revenue.
Marra, calm down, have a glass of something and enjoy your Sunday. You support a cracking club and are having a good season. Personally, hope you win the league as it would be a great story. Relax;)

I wish we could create the income from our 44,000 crowds that other PL clubs do with similar numbers.
We could charge £47 and £50 like Chelsea for lower and upper tiers. Our prices are affordable and among the cheapest in the league. Some horrible oneupmanship on here mind.

1.......2.....3..........

and breathe. :lol::lol::lol:

1) Give loads of free tickets away
2) People still don't turn up
3) The clubs uses tickets instead of people through the gate to count the attendance
4) Mutual masterbation amongst the fans on how great your attendance is.

Really, FFS. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

1) Every club uses offers etc for their less attractive fixtures to attract new supporters and help attendance figures. However, this doesn't amount to 'loads of free tickets' at SAFC or anywhere else.

2) There were massive travel problems in parts of the North East yesterday which meant that fans with tickets physically couldn't get to the match.

3) Traditionally SAFC were actually one of the few clubs who used fans through the turnstiles instead of tickets sold for their attendance figure. Most clubs use the higher tickets figure including Newcastle, Arsenal etc. If SAFC are now using the tickets figure then that is a fairly recent change but one that only brings SAFC in to line with the majority of clubs.

4) There isn't a club in the country with more support and less success than SAFC. It isn't unreasonable for fans to acknowledge that.

History?

You win five titles up to the 1912/13 season and now your steeped in history.

Since 1938 you've won one solitary FA Cup when you were a second division club.

History.

You're a deluded vile fuckwit @Narraback

Yes history is very important, you imbecilic cretin. Sadly for your club you haven't really got a lot. The same can be said of your fanbase  When was the last time your disgusting city managed to round up 44,000 of it's pitiful inhabitants to watch a football match, twat?

Also, I don't feel the need to register on another club's fan's forum because my shite team has suddenly and inexplicably found some form. Normally I'd love to see a little team like Leicester win the league, but arseholes like you prevent me from doing so. Now fuck of back to one of your own poxy forums you despicable moron.

He's a f***ing idiot. Just because they're up there at the minute, he thinks that's where they'll always end up. They're an established top 4 club now

Leicester could win the league this season and the Champions League the following year and still wouldn't come close to filling a 60k stadium. Small club with a small fanbase currently riding on the crest of a wave. They'll be back in the Championship in a few seasons time playing in front of their 8,500 hardcore again.

I bet Leicesterdick won't be one of them.

You're right there it doesn't but Leicester City is Leicestershire's team not just Leicester's team.

Leicestershire has a population of one million and whilst most of the sub continents descendants live in Leicester it's probably 150,000 so 15% of the population.

I'd say that our "Asian" support in the ground is probably about 3% but that's still a significant amount more than what it was 25 years a go when you didn't see any of them. Now that football is a lot safer to attend and racism is rare more people are coming.

It may be a bit manufactured but it's the best atmosphere in the league by an absolute mile.

It's that loud sometimes I wish the fans would give it a rest as the ground is usually rocking for the whole match.

Typical Sunderland fan snobbery and you'll belt out a Sun-der-land song once in a match and think your great supporters FFS.

A fake atmosphere is a shit atmosphere.
