Both of us were wrong, glad to see a relatively attacking move by cook.

445 to win is far too many but was expecting him to bat till his ton.
Yup, a surprisingly agressive declaration. Let's hope he gets the praise he deserves as both captain and batsman regardless of the result

Ah, they've taken tea anyway. Odd

How is 445 far too many?

It's a flat pitch and setting a very good Indian batting lineup 400 or under with 130-140 overs left is just asking for trouble.

Match regs are now if a change of innings is less than 30 minutes before lunch or tea, then they take the break. Changed a few years ago, makes sense and means you don't lose 2 overs.

Draw or out under 300 now way in hell they'd get close to 400 let alone 450.
But we're not in the privileged position of being able to give them a sniff and potentially win the test like Australia did in Headingley 2001

They will if they're still batting at 6pm tomorrow.
Doubtful. Be surprised if the run rate is much above 2 in this innings - they'll leave everything they can, score runs off Ali. If they are blocking and still batting tomorrow they'll be on 250, 300 max

They'll have Jordan and Woakes bowling at them for 30-40% of the innings, plenty of runs to be conceded between them.

a run out for the first wicket, diving underarm throw by broad, vijay out for 12, 26 for 1

at first, i thought erasmsus was not going to review it. it was as close as a run out could be
