3g footwear recommendations

I went on the Nike website, put my size in, picked FG and AG on the filter and sorted by cheapest.

I now have white boots, was only £18 though. Had them a year and played most weeks in them, still fine

As long as they're not soft ground studs or indoor soles you'll be fine. Not finding much difference between AG studs and the tough black turf soles at the minute.

First time in ages I spent a few quid and got a plain black pair, not keen at all.

I don’t normally go for black mate but I think whites a bit much. Give me luminous green any day

It's the thin soles that seem to be an issue with my current pair, like my feet are too wide for the bottoms. Someone has mentioned Umbro as a manufacturer that do wider bottoms.

There's a bit of debate about what's safest for your knees (I play at least three times a week hence my nerdiness for such matters) but here goes.

First you've got your indoor shoes which are a flat sole, similar to tennis shoes. Then there are turf shoes which don't have studs but have a more substantial bottom to them for better grip. Realistically, either are fine if you're playing on 3G or in a sports hall. You may run into some issues with the indoor shoes if the 3G is wet as they aren't designed to give much traction, so perhaps keeps that in mind if your pitch is outdoors and it rains a lot.

As others have said if you want traditional boots then look for ones marked AG or FG (it's the soleplate that makes the difference) they should also be fine.

I personally have a pair of regular AG boots and then a pair of turf shoes, both the same Adidas model as I find that comfortable. I usually pick depending on the surface. If it's an older turf field I go for the regular turf shoes. If it's a more modern field where they've got the actual artificial grass then I lean towards my boots. Essentially, the argument I've been told is that AG Boots aren't great on older turf fields because its more like a carpet and so your studs rest on top. With the more modern artificial turfs that simulate blades of grass an AG boot can work through that comfortably.

Umbro speciali if you are lucky enough to get your size. Real leather, comfy and about 35 quiod in the sale. very similar to the copa mundials which are about 90 quid now. thank me later

Bought some specialis today, half a size bigger than my foot size though but cannot get 10.5 for love nor money (not official ones anyway. Umbro are supposed to be good for wider soles, so we shall see.

I managed to try the copa mundials out in a store but didn't think much of them, ridiculous price as well. Thought they would of felt mint.

Really like my specialis, I think they are a half size small anyway. I'm a 9 and tried to play in an 8.5 (because I couldn't get my size initially) and they were so small I lost both big toe nails in one match. Enjoyed them that much though, despite the pain, I went and ordered another pair. So .5 bigger will probably be ok. They are wide mind. Think they are made for defenders, who are better off with a wider boot.

I'm really happy with mine and at 35 quid it's the best value boot I have ever bought. Took a while to come mind from the official website.

Copas are nowhere near the same quality as they used to be. A good pair of boots is £150 plus these days

It's being able to find them and try them on is an issue. Loads of the boots you can try on have those thin base/soles, which are no good to me. Any other recommendations? I read somewhere that mizuno are a good fit but bloody hell, over 200 notes!
