Aww man, what a night, we were superb.
To be fair to City, they sang We love you City for the last 15 minutes non stop that night - had my respect after that - awesome display of support.

we did and lost home to Soton and also got ''SWORDed at Stockport iirc
I’ve forgotten those games now!

.............a John Hawley hattrick as we smashed Man City at Maine Road with 4000 Safc in the magnificent Kippax on a balmy evening in Moss Side.

Oh how we sang:lol::lol:

One of those nights when its truly great to be a Sunderland fan.

Cummins with the other ???

Yes he missed an absolute sitter as well
Stockport was at Roker 1-2 , same score as Soton in front of 41k

Aye Tommy Sword scores them both. Waaallsend lad owned the Powder Monkey pub

We couldn't get into the Kippax so went in the side opposite ...

... we'd feared the worst walking out but the City fans were too shocked to start any bother

Great night but another one where the local
Plod held the bus up and searching everyone on the pretence they were looking for Jack the Ripper or Wearside Jack.

I have vague memories of being in one of the paddocks that night rather than the Kippax.
Remember it being a bit of a fuck on getting back to the busses which were parked around the corner from a big park ?
