He needs to cut his losses and fuck off, but no, he'll try to screw every last penny out of the club.
Fuck the consequences of where that will put us.
If he cares as much as he said in the statement after the "takeover" fell through, he'd be put what's owed to him to one side, and put incoming transfer fees into buying players to get us promoted, not giving grayson fuck all and expecting him to perform miracles.
The debt is owed to him, he's made the mistakes, why should we pay for his incompetence?
Good post steve

Yeah that's right, I said it

He probably has from past transfers, Quite funny supporters are happy when a team does well but take no responsibility when things dont go well, we as supporters wanted different managers sacked but did supporters put the money up to pay off the sacked managers NO we didnt.....

That comparison is f***ing stupid. They spent 55m or whatever improving the squad, we've spent 1.2. How about that for a comparison? Should we compare newcastle last prmeier league season where they spent 80M or so aswell?
Don't matter, the financial restrictions and requirements of a club going down do not give one toss about you wanting transfers

How are we in such a mess after spending 10 years in the richest league in the world?

Because every time things have started going against us we've paid off our manager and got a new one in whose brief has been "stop us getting relegated this season at all costs", who has spent tens of millions on players in their peak or latter years who will have no sell-on value by the time we need to sell them.

Also we lost AJ for free and then there's the Alvarez situation.

This is the problem with looking for short-term "success" ("success" meaning "not being relegated") at the expense of long-term financial safety. Every manager we've brought in during our stay in the Premier League has known how quickly previous managers have been sacked for poor results on the pitch and so have had no desire to think about the future with their transfer strategy.

His money? He loaned the money to us through a company, the loan has to be repaid by the club, not short. It's not his money at all.

and where has the money gone?
He has put 100m of his own money into the club and was written it off.

That's not really true tho is it
Short has loaned around £160m of his own money to Sunderland, and unlike Newcastle owner Mike Ashley, whose support comes in the form of a series of interest-free loans that could theoretically be called in at any time, the Black Cats custodian has capitalised £100m of his debt, meaning he can only recoup it if he sells the club at a certain price.

Do you understand what debt means?
We are in debt to the bloke who owns us. Is that fair?

You are only emphasising my point further. We owe him the money, he claims to care for the club yet he's willing to leave it in any state as long as he gets his money back.

What are you even going on about?
No one's disputing we are in financial difficulties, the anger is that Ellis Short has got us into these difficulties and is asset stripping the club in order for him to recoup as much cash as he can. He's making the club pay for his own mistakes

Share capital in Sunderland Limited the day he too over £86k; share capital now £101m. The sole shareholder in Sunderland Ltd is Drumaville Limited, a company owned by Ellis Short, who bought it from some Irish fellers on the advice of another Irish feller.

We wont know until we see the accounts, if he is asset stripping or making the club cheaper to buy, so ppl basing things on emotion not hard facts and I dont doubt if we lose few games at the start ppl will still blame Short....
