if Bolton arent pulling in new supporters its partly down to the club for not bringing them in, granted having successful teams on your doorstep doesn't help, but look at City's outreach programs, far superior than 99% of clubs around.
Look though at Citys attendances, and Man Utd tbf, they've priced out most of the regular fans and see hordes of tourists flocking in, its down to the likes of yourselves, Preston, Bury etc to try attract these fans into their grounds, its not all down to glory hunting fans, some of it comes down to clubs not doing enough to promote the club to new fans.

We have more season ticket holders this season than we did last season, so we are pulling in new supporters but it's an uphill battle. Describing Man Utd as a 'successful team' is the understatement of the year. They are a huge club with a global reach. Their merchandise sales alone dwarf our gate receipts. Kids would rather watch them on telly than turn out to watch the likes of Bolton, Blackburn, Burnley, etc, at the ground.

No-one, not a soul has said that.
Some thick wanker said having a season ticket for years is not loyalty though. How about from the ages of 1-22, not old then but not loyal either eh?

measuring loyalty based on one thing is ridiculous. You just don't like the fact that "kids" are showing more loyalty than you these days you sad old man.

Bear in mind that that size of following wasn't that uncommon in those days. We took about 15,000 to Blackpool that season.
You didn't bring 15,000 up here. With three games to go you were level on points with us with everything to play for, we took thousands down yours, and you still had a chance of promotion when you played us at Roker and your turn out was piss poor.
(we won the league that season)

Can you show me where I have said that then?
Fact is, I don't like YOU. That is down to your attitude.

EDIT: Can you tell me what you should base loyalty on then?

Measuring loyalty on the length of your time as a season ticket holder is quite frantically ridiculous especially considering majority of season ticket holders don't bother going anywhere other than Sunderland to watch us.

that highlighted bit is absolutely true.

f***ing hell, most season ticket holders will probably have wives and kids so can't spend one of their only days off galloping around the country.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Sunderland are a bigger club than Bolton. However, despite the fact that we are a relatively small club, in the 1976/77 season, only Chelsea had bigger average attendances outside the top division than us and we didn't even win promotion.

The simple arsehole doesn't realise that this is their ( not specifically his as he chose to go elsewhere) time.
He hasn't even been to the Wongadome, accessible by loyalty strangely enough.
He talks about loyalty but has in no way proven himself yet.

loyalty points?

you don't need to have said it. You can see it a mile off.

So you CAN judge it just one way then! A few posts ago you said that wasn't possible.
