3 realistic signings

Will Grigg is quality at this level. Jack Ross needs to find the system that suits him. This is problem when managers don't sign own players
Part of me agrees with that. However, we don’t have the personnel to get the best out of him and I doubt he can do it in the League above.

So, we either buy a few to go round him and play 10 yards further up the pitch which in turn requires a more athletic midfield.

Or flog him.

He any relation to Jadon?

Chuks Aneke is a free, perfect for us. Pace, power. Best finishing rate in League Two last year and proven record in League One.
Ryan Tafazolli - defender from Peterborough, free, perfect for us.
Marcus Maddison has a year left on his contract now
Mo Eisa is back available, hasn't worked for him at Bristol - likewise with Hakeeb Adelakun - double move for those two will give us much needed pace.
Funso Ojo at Scunny - has always impressed
Bugger

Bit of a nightmare situation that we literally have 4 plodders in central midfield which IMO has been one of our biggest issues.

Power, McGeough, Cattermole, Leadbitter.

We then have Mumba who has hardly been seen, Robson coming back, as is Embleton.

How do we even get shot / accomodate them lot?

He's just a no brainer for me. I hope we're at least expressing an interest. Seems he's Pompey bound though according to reports unfortunately.

Agreed.

His track record in this division over numerous seasons with numerous clubs suggests he's almost certainly not the issue.

I admittedly don't know a whole lot about him, but his League One record is around 20 odd goals in well over 100 odd games over the course of 6 seasons.

He might offer more in terms of link-up play etc, but I wouldn't be pinning my hopes on him in terms of goals.

I think we should build a system around Grigg, a player with 64 goals and 14 assists in 120 League One games prior to joining us. He's as close to proven as you can get in this division.

He's not a striker (I think he's played a little more advanced a lot this season). Admittedly I've only started keeping a closer eye on him since we came down but from what I understand he's played the vast majority of those games as an attacking centre mid or a number 10.

He's big, he's strong, athletic and mobile. He's technically sound, an alright age, a good price (free transfer and presumably relatively low wages) and, in my opinion, has potential for moving up the leagues. The downside, and I assume the reason other, bigger clubs, haven't taken a gamble on him are a supposed poor attitude (lots of clubs at a young age) but by all accounts he's grown up and settled down a lot now so that would hopefully no longer be an issue.

Whats the 3 you'd most like to see.

For me they would be:
Freddie Ladapo
Marcus Maddison
Matt Clarke

Maddison and Clarke would be difficult to get but money really does talk at this level and if we want to go up next year we do have to spend some. Ladapo we should be able to get out of Plymouth at a decent price.
We had the highest budget in the league by some distance and we didn't even finish in the top 2.

I'd also say Matt Clarke from Portsmouth, would be difficult to convince him to move though.

Sammie Szmodics from Colchester.. attacking midfielder with pace who can score goals. Easy Buy.

We need more than 3

But I'd like to see pace power & some creativity
